yup i see it but i cant see if its rectangular on the bottom or if it goes down into a small point, thats why i ask.. the long neck i could care less as i can cut it off but the bottom has to be rectangular since the shelf behind the headlight is nice and flat.

Yes, they are. Only the 1.6-style diff used different axles for the open vs. LSD configurations.
