91 Escort GT 1.8 Head

I recently posted about my old Escort GT (the 1.8), and I remembered I had this head sitting in my attic.

This was from the first engine that blew the head gasket @ 160k. I had it all cleaned up by a machine shop, not a performace job just a refresh. The valves were ground clean, the valve seats were ground, they plained it, and it was dunked. The HLA's were blown and I threw them away, I might still have the valve springs, retainers and cams if the buyer really wants them. I will have to look though.

Onto the pictures. Excuse the dust and junk, I havent cleaned it off yet. There are some light scratches on the deck from something, they aren't very deep though.

I don't know if this rust is bad or not, but when I rub my finger on it it doesn't really come off.

This is sort of rusted.

I'm not sure about price. I'm not sure what to compare it to because half of it is missing, but what is there is fresh. I will start at $200. This is just pulled from the air, if someone can tell me the fair price I will change it right away.

It will be shipped from 48237 and it weighs around 30 pounds. I will ship how the buyer recommends, buyer pays shipping. I accept PayPal, please account for the 3% fee. Feel free to ask for more pictures if needed. Thanks.

I thought the Protege head flowed less air than the Miata head??

looks the same to me.

Its the exact same casting number as the Miata head

I am pretty sure it is the exact same thing. I know there are some subtle differences to the FWD and RWD versions, but I think those have to deal with the external mounting of stuff. I know the differences are posted here or at m.net.

Please feel free to put up offers, the $200 is in no way set in stone.
