99-00 4W Cylinder Head, Cheap, For Parts
**this is not the same head I listed last week**
This is a 99 or 00 1.8 head. I'm not looking at it right now, but I recall that at least 1 cam bearing is scored. It probably would be possible to weld in to fill the damage, then have the head line bored. I have no idea what that would cost, but it's probably expensive, and may not be worthwhile. However, this thing has a full valvetrain including the solid lifters in it (NO CAMS). You want it for parts, or to fix it, or to cut it up, or for a paperweight $100 + freight OBO |
emphasis on OBO
Interested in making this thing go bye-bye |
Just had a look at it again. It's in much better shape than I thought. Has cam bearing damage on the 2 closest to the rear bearings on the exhaust side. Can get pics this weekend.

can i use cams and lifters off that thing on that other head you will be sending me?
|
never mind, just read that it has no cams :)
but can i use those lifters on that other head? |
there are no cams, and you'll already have the solid lifters ;)
|
ah, cool :)
|
Ben, shipping to 93405?
|
$58 actual FedEx ground (4 days)
|
Think it could be welded and fixed? I'd do a DIY P&P and have Elgin flow it and re-grind my cams to match.
Shoot me some photos, Ben, and I'll shoot them over to Elgin and see what they say. |
I'll do that on Saturday

Didn't I just say I'll post pics on Saturday? :magna:
PS, I edited out your email address so it wouldn't get picked up by the spam bots. :) |

Ben, sold. email me your paypal address and shipping address I'll email you a fedex label. I need it for a CNC porting/intake manifold project I'm collaborating on. Gonna cut it open!
Oh and I do need the valvetrain parts too. |
Sorry to change the topic but:
Emilio, what happened with the whole Bseries head fitting on the BP testing? |

Emilio, I can't tell you on the other forum anymore, but i am fuckin PSYCHED for that project. :D

Me too. Who knows what we'll find. My half baked ideas and Joe's Jedi engine knowledge might come up with a better option than the current status quo. I want something for the masses. No uber trick high dollar dyno queen. I envision an affordable stroker crate motor.
Big obstacles to power in the B series Mazda engines: rod ratio, ports that are too small area and at shallow angles. Joe wants to know just how much he can open up the heads. Then we'll know what we would need to do for a new manifold to match the open ports. Big ports need high revs though, and that doesn't fit well with the rod ratio. argh |
