99-00 GV Bumper FREE, or else!
3 Attachment(s)
I bought this bumper a few months back. I won it for $1 on e-bay. It was a pick up only auction, so I drove about 40 minutes for it, no biggy. It is a Garage Vary (GV) knock off. It is fiberglass. I went to put it on my car yesterday and it needed some trimming to properly fit. Once I got it lined up I noticed that you see the front upper radiator support directly under the top of the bumper. I believe this can be solved with some fiberglass work or whatever, but it's not worth my time.
Like I said, I paid $1 for it. If you are interested in this, you need to come here and pick it up and take it for FREE. I'll even drink a few high quality beers with you (which I will supply) and talk MT.net shit. Otherwise, I'll back over it with my truck and call it a day. I have this exact bumper on my '99. The gap at the top can be fixed, but it does take some work, however it's never quite as good as the real GV bumper.

What kind of work would it take to fix and would you take beer money to ship it? I actually just trashed my '99 bumper and I really like the way this one looks!
|
This will be fun! I'm not gonna lie.....I would almost rather see it get fucked up by the truck. lol

You could mount it the way it is, but it won't look super awesome. Beer money? Buy me a case of Chimay Red, and a case of Lagunitas Chocolate Stout and it's a deal. Where are you located at?
edit- dont care too much, my car is a piece of shit and ill make it work, but still id like to know what im dealing with. Worse comes to worst Ill spray it all flat black and call it a day. Race car, not show car. |

I remember when I had one without intercooler....can look a bit odd.
(real GV) Attachment 190967 The gap along the hood line can be fixed by taking the bumper support and trimming it up. This supports it from the middle and "props" it up. The bumper support needs the lower half cut off and the corners trimmed up. It's not hard work. I had a knockoff on my old car at one point and was able to get the gap to go away. Even the real GV can get that bad gap without the bumper support under it. |
That's what it looks like!!! I just can't see triming anything other than the aftermarket bumper. Thanks for being "the man" and uploading a helpful pic!
|
Smash the bitch!
Then send us all a piece. It would be super cute. |

If you're going to destroy it, don't do something ghey and lame like running over it with a truck...do something epic like tossing it on some railroad tracks. |

I'm sure GayForeva will let anyone borrow his sawzall to trim the plastic bumper support. It takes about 2 minutes to trim it.

Lay it out in the street, then get in the truck and floor it toward the bumper. Once your about 20' away, cut the wheel hard as fuck to the left and roll that shit over the bumper. That would be awesome as fuck! |

I don't know about "smashing" it, but I could possibly make sure it gets used for target practice with my AR-15 and then possibly ran over with a 4 wheeler.
Any interest in setting up a "group buy" on this event? I'm not baller enough to send the full $100 myself for this event, but surely more of us want to see this bumper destroyed. |

I'll gift $1 via paypal to see the video of it getting smashed in a creative way...while you're equally smashed on a case of Chimay Red, and a case of Lagunitas Chocolate Stout...and driving while shooting the AR-15, WITH the bumper roasting in a pool of flaming gasoline.

Any video yet?

Thank man!

You're quite welcome, marking as SOLD now...
