you need to stop reading on miata.net. those are the same people who for YEARS thought the 12psi was the highest boost you could run on the miata and 250hp was all the motor can take. the coolant reroute is better for people doing road racing and even at that many people don't have cooling problems to begin with. do some research kid.

TurboTim 01-05-2010 04:41 PM

I don't think it was excess boost that cracked that manifold. It was vibrationzzzzzzz. "IMHO". Bump.

Mr plainmiata what's going on with your car now? Still have it?

i still have it. i'm trying to get it torn down over the winter somehow for a rebuild, new turbo, transmission, chasis etc...... but we shall see i'm not holding my breath.

Do you think this was the case plainmiata? Think a brace (ala stock manifold) would have prevented it?

plainmiata 01-06-2010 03:19 PM

actually yes vibration does seem more logical. especially considering the miata engine does have a tendency to vibrate a bit. i would pay $40 to have it done but where i live there is no places that can do it that i trust. i was hoping that someone would recognize that this is truly a simple fix.

TurboTim 01-06-2010 04:30 PM

Ahh I hear ya. It is a good deal if a buyer does have a place they trust to weld it. I could buy it, fix it, and try to sell it but I don't have the cash to put out there at the moment.

Good luck with the sale. Bump...

miatamike203 01-06-2010 04:32 PM

still for sale or no???

plainmiata 01-06-2010 04:55 PM

yes it's for sale

m2cupcar 01-06-2010 05:03 PM

Even if he repair was $100 it would still be a good deal.

miatamike203 01-06-2010 06:45 PM

I pmed u

SKMetalworks 01-06-2010 08:58 PM

Id repair it for 50$. Seems like an easy fix. Drill 1 small hole at each of the ends. Grind down till you have paperthin at the root. Weld, done. Whats the original price on this?

plainmiata 01-07-2010 02:51 AM

600

plainmiata 01-11-2010 10:50 PM
