AEM Twin Fire ignition amplifier box, new in box from AEM

Just received a new unit from AEM, updated from their first gen TwinFire box so there's no more issues. I tossed the original COP setup I was running, and don't want to bother now. The unit is new, still sealed in the box direct from AEM. I can pop the seal and take a photo for those interested. $200 to your door via insured Fedex shipping.

what does that thing improve?

Ignition amplifier, hotter, longer spark. Similar to an MSD or Crane box, but digital. I used it when I ran a COP setup that didn't have integrated ignitors. The box shorted due to a bad wire in the box. Returned it to AEM, they sent an updated box that no longer has that issue. This is that updated box, received it a couple weeks ago.

do you need the AEM stand-alone to run the box?

I just took this photo, then the camera battery died. It can be used by itself, you don't need anything else to drive it. Yea, that is a darn good price, esp since it's NIB.

would it throw off the Link at all?

soflarick 01-06-2008 07:51 PM

Probably not, wires into the ignition wiring in the engine bay.

I ran a TwinFire off my Link and it was fine (though like the OP it shorted out, and i too just received my new box).
