AGX 4 way shocks and FM lowering springs
Ok, I've had a few people ask me about these, and since one in particular has a full mailbox, I figure I'll just post here.
You mentioned you've got a cheapie set of AGXs on some FM springs? More details / what are you asking for them? :eek5: They are the 350/275 ls springs, lower the car at least an inch, and give you "right now" steering, as I like to call it. Oh, the shocks are 4 way adjustable, compression and rebound adjusted together. Konis don't even adjust compression, so maybe it's not so bad. You can adjust them easy while on the car without tools. I guess I'm looking to get 1/3 of whatever FM gets for them new, seems fair. They are probably in better shape than my konis, which are "new" but I suspect might have blown. They ride completely fine, and I only got rid of them because they can't handle the 4x stock stiffness springs I have now, and I didn't want to knock off the perch for ride height adjustability, making them useless for the next guy . -Abe. P.S. Other things to be aware of: The FM front sway can contact the dial adjuster on the front (left?) shock, so make sure and install it facing away. When you get stiffer springs, you'll eventually want a shock tower brace (I assume I still have my old one. It interferes with the FM secondary fuel rail but should be otherwise fine. At least it weighs nothing. Anyway, I guess that's for sale too, like super cheap). On stock suspension, the body never takes enough of a hit to flex, but once things are tight you'll notice the car flex/bouncing and a STB really keeps things stiffer. Lastly, these springs are ABOUT 2x stock stiffness. If you turn the shocks down it's not harsher than stock, but with the shocks way up particularly wimpy riders may complain. When I picked my (then) girlfriend up from the hospital after her surgery, I hopped out and turned them down to full loose, and sometimes will for freeway driving. In the real world, with 14-15" rims, it's not an issue. |
can this be used on a NA?

I think you need the nb mounts |
I'm interested but I have a few questions.
- What would shipping be to 12304? - Will they fit my '99? Please let me know a total and send them to my PM. Thanks, Joel |
They'll definately fit a 99, they were on my 2000. I saw them on my own two eyes come off an NA, but I'm not sure if the guy did something weird to his car to make them fit or not. Either way, the smart thing is to call up Fat Cat Motorsports, he sells mounts for that - which increase travel, and you could recycle if you upgrade later.
Flyin` Miata stage 1 suspension kit FM springs matched with KYB AGX shocks. Save over $30! On sale! $585.40 Regular price: $599.00 I guess I'd be happy with $200 + actual shipping. I've had a couple people interested, so make me an offer, but to keep it from turning into an auction the first $250 takes it. |
