Ohh shit. This isn't the standard Begi cast manifold. This is actually a California CARB Begi cast manifold for a 99/00. It is made to fit with the upper catalytic converter that were in those 2 years of Cali speced cars.

I was wondering why this was the ONLY BEGI manifold I have ever seen with the flange so far forward lol.

It is ultimately the reason that Begi/Belltuning setup isn't "really" carb approved any more for those years.

I'm learning all kinds of Miata things in this thread lol. Makes sense why they needed to move the flange forward.
