He scammed me by providing low impedance injectors in lieu of high impedance. Stated they were high impedance, but Paypal claimed that since I got delivery, they would go no further.

Have a problem with a transaction? We encourage you to contact the seller directly by opening a dispute in the Resolution Center within 45 calendar days of payment.

Reasons for opening a dispute:

* You paid for your item, but you haven't received it.
* You received an item that is significantly different from the seller's description.

Most disputes can be resolved through direct communication. If you're unable to resolve the problem, we can help. You can ask us to investigate the transaction by escalating the dispute to a PayPal claim.
As long as it is within 45 days you can file a dispute(Probably too late for you). I would say that is a big enough difference to warrant a refund. But I guess paypal is the end decider in all cases. They also so that even if you are outside the 45 day limit, to still file a dispute because paypal will use that in future disputes with other buyers/sellers.

In the interests of good karma, I'm going to help you.

One of the scammer victims was OlderGuy. OG has helped me a million times, and he recently gave me a set of high-impedence 305cc injectors. I will no longer need them in a couple of months from now. I'll send them to you for the cost of shipping if you can wait a while.

We should send him fake money orders and keep the parts.

I have been in the same position with paying with a MO . If you use a U.S postal money order you can file a claim through the post office . Its a federal crime if you get scammed using a money order .
Trust me most of the time just letting the scammer know that you are filing the paper work with the post office and giveing them all the infomation you have on the situation will get them to refund you the money or send the parts (2nd part isnt going to work in the situation) .
Just go to your local post office and ask them about it . I think you have to wait atleast 30 days befor they will help but its worth it in the long run .

I will be up that way in 3 weeks. With 2 other dudes. Maybe paying him a visit is in order?

We can bring the Local LEO or do it the old fashioned way.

Let me know. It would be worth a sidetrip to introduce ourselves to this asshat.

You guys give this some thought. Make a list of who got screwed out of what, items, amounts, etc. I will not simply going to start busting on him on heresay. Let's be adults here. PayBack is one thing, lynching is completely different. Specific dates, items, transactions, names etc.

I am going up to the Dragon with my Hayabusa group in April. We take getting ripped off pretty seriously and can be some pretty serious dudes. I will talk to them about a little visit.

If the blood returns to his head after he realizes why we have come there, maybe he will make good on them or risk knowing the lengths we are willing to go to.

Update. Conyers is a hella side-trip from intended route, however there will be others running closer to there on their route and will join in kind if we can't make that big a detour.

Maybe post up his new contact information? PP info, the address listed on his PP, etc...
What screen name does he use on the other forums?

Hey olderguy, what was the return address on the injectors he sent you?

I am known to go driving around randomly and have ended up on Conyers for no good reason....

I keep the box of injectors in my bookcase to remind me to get even some day.

It was in December of 2007, his address was 3499 Heathervale Way SW, Conyers, GA 30094

If you can get his phone numbers, post ads on craigslist for gaysex and leave his phone number. Or, if you have his email, do the same thing.

Funny to see this come up again. I thought I had posted an update on my case, but it took so long I may have forgot.

He finally responded after I threatened to take it up with the post office. He barely got my money order back to me before it would have expired.

He used the out I had given in one of my emails, that I apologize if he had a family medical situation, and could understand. Sure enough, he said he'd been in the hospital, for 3 whole months.

Oh well, got my money back, and passed the favor along. Recently sold two sets of 460s (eventually got a back up set) to newbs at nearly half price. I think these went to England. To his credit the part was right, and worked great. Too bad I wasn't the buyer he decided to ship them to.

He never admitted to double selling the parts, and shipping them to someone else. He simply said he never shipped them I believe. I've long since deleted the emails and let it go...regardless of how pissed I was at the time. Had the world not been so small, and Robert not got me running, I might have pursued it further.

Live and learn, deal with people with good feedback, and always leave yourself a recourse should the deal go south. I only use cash, money orders, or PP "gift" transactions with people I know personally or have dealt with before.

A note on "visits":

I offered to take up investigations on any scammers in the Houston area after this incident, hoping to help someone out.

Another forum member did ask me to make a visit, just to check out a deal, and possibly keep contact. Shortly thereafter the seller disappeared on a few deals, and some members PMed me.

The seller was ChuckyZ.

I was one day short of going over there when the news of his much more serious offenses broke.

I have a family, and this is my hobby. I understand losing hard earned money sucks, but consider what you may be getting into, and remember that karma is a bitch.

Best thing you can do is leave feedback, or start a "buyer beware" thread to protect other enthusiasts.

Were you replying to my offer to to the "visit" post?

As I said, if the 305s are big enough for you, and you can wait a couple of months, then they're yours for free.

Default He has responded to my add to sell my Miata

Does anyone know if this guy is actually on the straight and narrow now? I placed my Miata in the auto trader to sell and he inquired asking for more photos which I sent and then he asked for photos of the inside of the trunk and the hood which I thought was strange so I googled his name and found this forum but it seems to be years old. I quit responding to him once I found this but then I was contacted via text with just a phone number asking for the same photos, I sent on but asked his name & why he would want a photo of the trunk and he replied his name is Troy which leads me to believe this is him again. Wondering what he could gain by getting my photos and if he asks to see the car in person if I should do it or just tell him to get lost.

Yep I would tell him to **** off. If he is buying something from you its "harder" to get screwed, especially if paying cash. But not worth even the worry or the hassle.
