Custom Car Trailer
 

Up for sale is my custom car trailer.

I designed and built this trailer for my Mazda Miata racecar. It is in great shape and stored inside my garage when not at the track.

This trailer was engineered and designed using 3D Cad software with one goal in mind, lightness. (I will happily pass on the 3D data to the new owner if desired.) I wanted to be able to pull this trailer with anything and be able to move it around empty without a truck.

It has hydraulic surge brakes that do not require a brake controller. If your tow vehicle is able to tow the 3500 lb max weight and has a 2” hitch, you are good to go.

The trailer is so easy to move around that you can pull it across a grass yard by yourself. With my car on the trailer, I can roll it around on a solid surface by myself. It’s really nice to not have to hook it up to the truck to move it around.

Here are some specs:

It has 14.5ft runners, 17.5ft total length and weighs in at 780 lbs. It has a 3500 lb axle with 14” tires and a brand new, never used spare.

The runners are coated with industrial non-skid.

There is an 8 degree dovetail the last 28in of the trailer to make loading/unloading easy.

The tongue has a bracket to mount a Warn winch. (Winch not included, but I will give you all the purchase information if desired)

Maximum car weight is 2720. I have towed Mazda Miatas, Honda Civics, Mazda Rx7s, Porsche 911s, and a MR2. Think small 4 cylinder car.

Ramps are one of a kind and extremely light. They are custom made aluminum ramps that are 6ft long and weigh in at 8 lbs each. Yes 8 lbs!

Selling Price is $1300 OBO. Being that everything is custom, you don’t want to know how much I have invested.
