Default Air Research Garret T3/T4 turbo

For sale: 1 Air Research Garret T3 Super.60 turbo. It’s a ball bearing water and oil cooled turbo.

This particular turbo is a $400 option on the Begi S5 system.

Mike (the previous owner) sent me this explanation when I bought his kit: “The turbo is a T3 (Compressor side and Turbine Side). Corky just installed a T04E Compressor wheel in there which makes it act kind of like a T3 Super 60, just a little hotter. I think it would peak out around 350whp. But, it works in it's peak efficiency island from 240whp to 310whp.”

It has been used for 3,500 miles. No shaft play whatsoever.

I’ll sell it for $600.00 shipped in the Continental US

Rafa, this is a t3/t4 turbo now.... have any clue what trim? A t04e 40 or 46 trim would be close to a S60 T3 wheel...a 57 trim wheel is not

what a/r is stamped on the turbine inlet?

Pay me in Turbo form, one ballbearing oil/water cooled T3 with a to4e compressor wheel will do...

It appears to have a Ceramic coating on the hotside....nice

I think it's a .46 but I'm not sure.

a 46trim to4e would be a nice little turbo hopefully the turbine is a standard .48 Stage I. I would expect to be able to support 350rwhp with it.

I don't know. I sent Mike an email asking him. I'm waiting for his reply.

FWIW, it says: A/R .63

Just in case, here's a pic:

You always have credit with me!

I've got a local RX-7 owner hounding me.

BTW, I get a sense it's larger than .46. Let's see if Mike reads this thread.

Not gonna do that Rafa, things happen for a reason, and if I can't have it now, hopefully something similar will come by at another time when I can splurge.
The .63 a/r is also perfect for me...dammit!!!
As I said, good luck with the sale Rafa, I am sure it won't last long.
I hope Urbansoot buys it, cause he would sell it 2-4 months later and I could get it haha.

ok.... to clear things up:

This is a T3/T4.
The turbine housing is .63 A/R
The turbine is a Stage II or III wheel
EWG only, unless you replace the housing
The compressor is a T04e 46 trim.

We have to wait for Mike to confirm the specs I don't have. As I stated before; I sent Mike an email last night. When he gets back to me I'll post any additional info he may have since he was the one who originally asked Corky to modify it.

BTW, I have an external WG indeed.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. Don't worry, it will be out of the car and kept safely on my locker!

BTW, I already got a smaller T3 and a T28. I'll be doing some comparisons in the future

More responsive is the key in my case. The new T3 is smaller. You're dead on!

I'm starting to look for a T2 manifold also.

If you want response toss a .48 AR turbine onto that thing... a stage 2 .63AR is really going to kill your spool on a 1.8L
