Don't pay more than $500 for a used miata motor, period. If they want more go somewhere else. Go to a junkyard which happens to have a miata motor, not one that advertises it.

Not everyone lives in Lala Land, Texas where every Miata engine seller accepts blowjobs in exchange for money off the purchase price. I paid $700 for my '99 motor with no accessories and felt like I got a good deal.
