way to make us group buy guys feel like we gave away $45 ;)

Loki047 02-17-2008 08:22 PM

how much did you pay for the group buy?

Stealth97 02-17-2008 08:24 PM

If I remember right I paid $450 on the first group buy.

y8s 02-17-2008 09:03 PM

i was wrong... we paid 399 + 25 shipping. then every other shop in the world put this stuff on sale.

M-Tuned 02-18-2008 01:10 AM

This is not a sale from ETD. I personally purchased a bunch of rods and I am selling some at a loss. I want to move on to other projects and therefore I want rid of them.

y8s 02-18-2008 09:57 AM

fair enough... regardless, it's a smokin' deal.

JasonC SBB 02-18-2008 11:08 AM

Are these lighter or stronger than 949 Racing's CAT rods?

patsmx5 02-18-2008 11:12 AM

Comes with ARP 8740 5/16" Rod bolts, the largest that can fit (not 5/16" )
Uh, 5/16 instead of..... 5/16ths. So what size are they? I'd also like to know what the diff between these and the CAT rods are, if any.

M-Tuned 02-18-2008 11:17 AM

I don't have a set of CAT rods so I can't 100% compare. I can tell you that ETD had multiple companies bid on making their rods, and then the company they did not use due to QC issues decided to come to market with their product including the same damn part number.

They are great rods, and they are going for a smoking deal!

M-Tuned 02-18-2008 11:18 AM

I just measured my other set, they are 5/16 :)

RotorNutFD3S 02-18-2008 02:36 PM

Payment sent. Sold.

And for reference's sake, ETD's website says the ARP 8740 rod bolts are 7/16" and not 5/16" as stated in this thread.

M-Tuned 02-18-2008 02:56 PM

Hey! I still have another set for sale. You're cramping my style.
You might remember that I was quite involved with getting these rods to market. I needed a bunch of sets for My projects. I seem to like to hord parts around here.

Until John yells at me for selling mine to cheap, I want to get rid since I now have 2 motors running, and don't seem to need the others anytime soon.

Thanks!

RotorNutFD3S 02-18-2008 03:31 PM

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of that! I wasn't around when you did the group buy (and I actually just ran into the thread concerning that).

BTW - ETDRacing's website says the bolts are 7/16" but in a few threads I have found, I've read 7/16" and 5/16", so which are they?

M-Tuned 02-18-2008 03:38 PM

5/16" I measured them myself.

PM Set. I will buy the second set.

M-Tuned 02-19-2008 10:03 AM

I still have a few more sets of my batch. Let me know if you interested.. Once they are gone, they are gone :)

M-Tuned 02-22-2008 01:54 PM

I still have some rods available.. I also want to make one quick correction. The rod bolts are 3/8" which is better than 5/16" :)

Can ship out on Monday or Tuesday!

magnamx-5 02-23-2008 12:04 PM

I need a paypall addy and then you won't have to worry about them cluttering up your shop Man :D

RotorNutFD3S 02-23-2008 12:39 PM

I got mine yesterday! They are very nice!
