F/S:1.6 Longblock..Rebuilt..etc etc...

Recently acquired a 1.6 longblock from a friend for payment to put in a stroker 1.9 into his NA.

The 1.6 had the shortnose crank problem, he then had it replaced with a longnose crank had the bottom end rebuilt (oe specs). It currently has 40k miles on the rebuild, and has a tapped oil pan ready for boost. Its a complete longblock (Oil Pan to Valve Cover).

Fel-Pro head gasket
New water pump
New gates racing timing belt
ARP Head Studs
Viton Valve Seals
Viton CAS O-ring
Hondata Intake Mani. Gasket
Brand New exhaust manifold gasket/stud kit from miataroadster
OE fuel rail and injectors

Intake manifold-$40

So far the going rate seems to be around $400-450 asking price....thats OBO
let me know. (willing to trade parts+cash) PM me for list of parts interested in.

Its just sitting in my garage taking up space.

pictures as soon as i can get another USB cable for my camera.

Where are you located.

I REALLY want a backup motor, and could scrounge up a couple of hundred.

This may be pending on whether I'll still have a garage in another month.

I've sold off or installed the whole slew of parts I'd recently acquired...but we might be able to work something out.

I'm not sure what shipping would be like...but if the motor's cheap enough I could justify it.

I run mine too close to the ragged edge and depend on it entirely too much to not have something at hand I could swap over in a weekend.

skullzaflare 11-12-2009 05:54 PM

north carolina? if you figure out a price let me know, im interested

NAshowdown95 11-12-2009 05:57 PM

theres a few stock ones with rebuilt heads local to me for $250
id assume 350?
i just paid 65 for a whole parts car, but the motor is a snc

NAshowdown95 11-12-2009 06:02 PM

id assume $350 is fair, but its got $100 worth of brand new head studs. Since the head gasket job it has not been put back into the car. So the head gasket and everything else is fresh and never started on. Only 40k on rebuilt bottom end w/long nose.

Pickup too far for you?

gospeed81 11-12-2009 06:07 PM

I paid $150 for my last 1.6L...but it wasn't rebuilt.

Actually it was a $200 deal with a set of daisies and Potenzas...can't beat that with a stick.

I wouldn't take less than $300 if I had it.

$400 sound fair?

its rebuilt bottom end hell i put all the labor into the rebuild and just got done with the oil pan tapping, just trying to get my moneys worth out of labor and for the motor itself.

That would be good...but I'm only about halfway there (just bought wheels and tires).

Sounds like a good price though...should sell quick.

NAshowdown95 11-12-2009 06:25 PM

i understand that....400 for just a longblock and no intake manifold?

Fireindc 11-12-2009 06:31 PM

Sounds like a good deal.

NAshowdown95 11-12-2009 06:36 PM

Anybody interested in a rebuilt complete 1.6 then?

p51hellfire 11-12-2009 08:15 PM

well something I suggest to you is to explain the negative feedback before you make this sale to anyone. Your the only one I've ever seen with it.. But yeah great deal If I had the cash I'd come and get it..
GLWS
