F/S Kia Sephia Dual Feed Fuel Rails

3 Attachment(s)
I have two fuel rails removed from 96 Kia Sephia's. For those who don't know, they had a 1.8 BP engine. However, the fuel rail is different. It has more metal on the ends for tapping to make into a dual feed. While back I bought a Protege rail and drilled and tapped it. Turns out you only get like maybe 2 threads on one end of the rail where it's 1/8 NPT because there's just a piece of sheet metal there. My 99' rail is the same way with only a thin piece of sheet metal on the end. Maybe it wouldn't leak and maybe JB Weld would be a good fix, but those options weren't for me.

So I purchased a few Kia Sephia fuel rails. These have about a 1/4" of metal on the end allowing for a proper 1/8 NPT. Here's a pic of the Kia Rail after drilling and taping it. One end I taped 1/8 NPT, the other 1/4 NPT. I also drilled out the rail where the 1/4" NPT fitting goes. Before it had about a 3/16 hole feeding the rail. I drilled mine out to 5/16.

One is already modded and I'm keeping it to put on my 99. I have two more rails that have not been modified yet. I'll sell them as is for 35 shipped each or drilled and tapped for 55 shipped each.

Where are you going to place the 99+ dampener when using this rail?

IIRC... The Sephia mounting tabs have the same spacing from rail stock to hole as the 94-97 rail and therefore will not work with a 99+ engine once you get the injectors mounted.

Hope this makes sense.. I've been quite intimate with fuel rails as of late :)

This is for a 94-97, I should have said that. I gotta move the center of the holes for the injector tabs over around .350" toward the rail for it to work on my 99'. No dampener. This is for someone who is replacing their fuel system pretty much. For example my rail has a pair of 3/8 barb fittings that both go into a high pressure mallory regulator fed by 2 fuel pumps. :)

Yeah... Cheap alternative for a 94-97 and great for some low boost piece of mind!

Sounds neat.. Adding the FPR back into the system on a 99+, I've thought about doing the same a few times and installing the Aeromotive Regulator I have kicking around.

I like your build, it is neat. Lemme know when you need a more rail than the tiny stocker :giggle: I've got some ready to ship :)

I probably won't be changing rails soon, but I'll be on the lookout for a reroute kit. :)

So since you have a wee bit of experience with fuel rails..

Is there any chance the injectors would seal without moving the bolt holes on my 99? I realize it's gonna make the injectors sit sideways as opposed to perpendicular with the rail and head. I would assume this doesn't work, or it doesn't seal? I'm planing on changing it if I have to.

You have to do so.. The angle is quite different...

If this is for a 94-97, then why not just modify the stokc 94-97 fuel rail?

This is what I did to my '99 fuel rail btw:
