Flyin Miata clutch

It has an ACT pressure plate and an aluminum flywheel. I've never picked up a flywheel this light before! All is in great condition with what looks to be about 75% of material left on the disc.

It worked great in my 1990 FMII car, but the car is being LS1'd so its up for grabs

350 shipped within the 48 states takes it!

Send me a PM with your email address or phone number if you get pictures if you'd like them.

Nice save..... Its in great condition though. If I was going to be building another 1.6-1.8, i'd run it in a heartbeat.

Hypertek99 12-09-2009 01:06 PM

Is this the 1.6 version clutch or the 1.8 version as both will fit in a 1.6L

chpmnsws6 12-09-2009 03:00 PM

I honestly do not know. If both fit the 1.6, will both fit the 1.8? It is whatever FM reccomends if that helps any.

Braineack 12-09-2009 03:04 PM

better answer: who cares if it comes with the lightweight flywheel?

another good question: is it the Extreme PP or Heavy Duty?

1.8 size only, although it can be used on a 1.6 if you also use a 1.8 flywheel.

The clutch was purchased entirely from Flyin Miata for $895.00

It is a 1.8 clutch

Receipt reads:
FM Clutch/Flywheel Combination
Clutch Kit, ACT/FM, 94-02
Flywheel, FM Lightweight Alum."

I will make a copy of the receipt for the future owner of this clutch to keep as a record.

Thank you. I feel like I'm selling to a bunch of nit picky kids. Its a badass clutch at a 1/3 of the new price!!!

Besides what is on the receipt from FM, I have no other information on this clutch. I have not studied the turbo 4 stuff like the LS1 stuff, so I don't have a lot of information besides it held 14-15psi on my pig of a car (2740 with driver... plus hardtop) without an issue and the setup still looks great.

chpmnsws6 12-09-2009 03:21 PM

Pressure plate is yellow. Flywheel is purple. It has a full face disc. Cost was 3x the cost of the one in the above link.

Braineack 12-09-2009 03:23 PM

is there any part numbers on the pressure plate? they sold a HD or XT pp, makes a pretty big difference.

Too bad im broke actually, I want to go back to a XT PP and street disc.

chpmnsws6 12-09-2009 03:30 PM

I have Flyin Miata part numbers-
08-36000- FM Clutch/Flywheel Combo
08-19000- Clutch Kit
08-26000-Flywheel, FM Lightweight Aluminum

I don't know how much more power your making then the typical FMII car, but I wasn't exactly easy on the car during Auto-X runs or when GT's (2v or 3v) LT1 Fbodies pulled up next to me (LS1's used to walk me after 2nd gear).

And the truth comes out from Mr. "my old dad can drive my 6puck you sissies."...

If it's the XT I'll vouch for it being an AWESOME clutch setup.

Holds all kinds of abuse (unless of course you're running sub-SM lap times or whatever), with stock engagement feel.

Braineack 12-09-2009 03:32 PM

I can drive, and I can drive it so much as you'd never know I was driving a pucked setup, but it requires effort and I'm lazy & turning the miata back into more of a street contender and less track parts.

We all have that phase in life. I had mine fresh outta the gate with a Spec Stage 5 Iron slated disc behind a built 347 with a direct port system, no AC, heat, or power steering. You quickly realize cars are a lot more fun when you have the luxuries and give up those few tenths of a second in order to enjoy the car 100% of the time vs 10% of the time....

BTW- MT.net is missing the "thread jacked" smilies! :)

Braineack 12-09-2009 03:50 PM

you shouldn't complain when the sale isn't getting crapped on and you're getting free bumps :)

chpmnsws6 12-09-2009 04:03 PM

Hence the smilie face at the end. :)

Braineack, when are you going to make the jump into the LS1 world? Everyones doing it.......:giggle:
