Default DC/MD/VA - Original Flyin' Miata 90-97 springs

These are the original (lower) FM springs. Still in decent condition, no squeaks or sagging. These put my porky 97M around 12" front, 12.5" rear. $150 shipped to the lower 48.

So these aren't the newer 318/233 rates?

I'm still looking around to see what the original rates were...

342/228 and they lowered you a touch more.

Honestly not sure of the mileage as I'm not the original owner. I put roughly 35k on them. I can PM now!

Trust me...the mileage on these doesn't matter.

It's a matter of fatigue stress design in springs.

In the above the y-axis is the stress in the metal coil of the spring, and the x-axis is the number of cycles to failure. You'll notice the curves for the material (ferrous one on top interests us here) approach a lower limit as expeted stress decreases.

A well designed spring will never see stresses near this limit, and therefore never have appreciable fatigue that would require fatigue life calculations. Airplane trusses have a fatigue life...automobile springs don't.
