FS: All the stuff to get you started

I'm picking up an EMU from another forum member, so my current stuff needs to go. The FMU, injectors, MSD, and fuel rail are on my car now.

1.8 Injectors Tan top. Cleaned, tested, and new baskets, pintle caps, orings, and insulators installed a couple months ago, probably 1k miles since cleaning, 3 flowed at 266, 1 flowed at 267 cc/min @ 3 bar, They cost me $115 between their purchase price and cleaning. $80

MSD Sebring Timing Controller, pulls timing with boost. Predecessor to the BIPES unit. A couple of years old, but only 6K miles on it. $90

Faze NarrowBand Gauge Typical NB A/F gauge with led markers and blue el backlight. A few years old, pulled out of my car a few months ago when I got an LC/XD. $20

You can see pictures of most of the items in my vBGarage, but if you want a pic of a particular item, let me know. I also have my dyno graph posted in the dynos section so you can see what kind of power you can expect.

Some nice deals to be had here!

Ben 12-31-2006 02:03 PM

I know my FMU and Injectors are a little bit on the high side compared to what I usually see them go for. I just went through my notes and want to clarify that the FMU was installed on November 12 2006 and the injectors were installed on November 17. The FMU was originally $215 and the injectors were $115 including servicing. Both have about 700 miles of use since installation.

an MSD unit just went for $65 on ebay.

Ben 01-02-2007 01:11 AM

Post a link. I did a completed items search and closest one I saw was the 5462 that went for $81. The 5462 is a generic model, where the Sebring's map was specifically designed for the NA Miata. The Sebring sells for $158 + shipping new from FM.

I thought I had all items priced failry and reasonably. I am always open to offers. Also remember that paypal eats 3%.

Injectors added, and pics too

<edit>all the items that have been deleted from here are sold

That box he "found at work" is a different model. Mine's the current model and known functional. Crap elsewhere.

I have never seen that msd before. It say's that it's a boost controller not for timing. I have one like Bens and it works great only it's a little limited in how much it can retard. Bipes makes an upgrade for it to make it more adjustable.

Braineack 01-03-2007 02:53 PM

MSD has a funny way of labeling thing....the MSD "Boost Control" device is an ignition controller. We installed a universal one in a buddies mustang, but you could dial in 1-3 degrees per boost.

Mouglie 01-13-2007 03:53 PM

so is there a controller for the MSD "boost control"? and how do you wire it in? It looks like it has a vacum line, where does this go? are the 1.8 fuel injectors still available and do i need a fuel rail to install them?

jayc72 01-13-2007 06:12 PM

No controller for the MSD "boost control" which is really a timing controller. Wire it in and connect the vacuum source and away you go. The 1.8 injectors are plug and play, no need for a different fuel rail.

Ben's a great guy, buy with confidence!

Mouglie 01-13-2007 07:11 PM

ok, Ben, pack those 1.8 injectors and mail them to me, pm me your info...
if you take paypal i can pay you as soon as i get your email addy...

I still don't know about the MSD... (i know its for timing) i still don't know how to wire it, where to connect it or where the vacum line goes... (i bought one yesterday...) where can i get installation info?

Ben 01-14-2007 11:08 AM

The injectors are still in the car. I'm not going to pull them until I get the EMU installed. I can't get the EMU installed until Brian gets his Tec installed. So it's a viscous cycle. If you don't mind waiting, I'll put your name on them.

The car's running so nice now, it's actually a shame to replace the fueling and timing control systems. Oh well.

I think I have a wiring diagram for the Sebring around, let me dig it up and I'll shoot it to you.

Mouglie 01-14-2007 01:49 PM

i don't mind the wait, i'm still getting all my parts checklist so i can install everything at once...

miatanewb 01-14-2007 07:18 PM

Do you still have that FMU? All the brackets and fittings as well?

Ben 01-22-2007 07:40 PM

buy buy buy people! The EMU is coming. :bigtu:

The item list is kept current as I delete items off as they sell.

cueball1 01-22-2007 08:46 PM

I'll take the FMU if it's the right model. Do you know which on it is? Price includes shipping? Snail mail is OK. Let me know price, how you want to get paid and how you want to ship it. Mounting bracket come with it? Fittings?

Ben 01-22-2007 09:04 PM

I don't know the model number. It's the new model billet fmu that's correct for a turbo miata. It includes everything that came with it from BEGi (bracket, restrictor, check valve, etc) and would be ready to install. Add $7 for USPS priority. All payment types accepted, but if you send a check, I wont ship till it clears.

<edit> FMU is sold
