It's to my knowledge that the old palms were different as some of them were for VVT and others were not.

I emailed boundary engineering if this will work for a regular BP you will have a p.m.

If I recall, the vvt pumps are backwards compatible but you wouldn't want to run an older BP pump on a vvt motor.

For a time all BE pumps were modified vvt pumps.

You are correct, BE sent me an email to confirm that this specific pump (SN BE-480) can be used with a non VVT motor.

VVT pumps have slightly higher flow volume. This is due to the fact that the pumps gears are approximately 20 thousandths of an inch thicker than the non-VVT pumps. There are no other significant differences between the pumps. The VVT pumps are compatible with all of the 1.8L Miatas.
