I have a GT2560R. I bought it off miata.net, but I have decided to go another route. No Shaft Play and spins ups smooth (with a vacuum, after oiled up, and for a few seconds to see if it was smooth)

Pictures up.

I assuming you had an supply of oil going to the turbo when you spun it up with a vacuum?...

I bet he rigged up a dry sump on his living room floor just to feed the turbo while he spins it up with a vacuum cleaner.

Sucking it with a vacuum cleaner isnt gonna do anything to it. Its a turbo, think about the conditions its designed to work under.

i blew a turbo by trying to spin it with pressurized air...

Great advertising strategy.

You might want to say something like, "for only a few seconds after I oiled it up". And nothing here sells without a picture.

+2 Sam. Seriously a house hold vacuum isnt gonna spin it nearly as fast as it would in a car, not to mention the vacuum isnt creating any heat at all.

I added some oil in the inlet, and just spun it with a small vaccumm to see if it spun smoothly. No 10,000 RPM spinups.

Spun smooth.

No, not a dyson, but according to the label, it has super dual cyclone power with a Hepa Filter
