Eventually selling everything to pay for the FE swap, first up are the basic internals.

Rods are Crower ($800 new). These rods experienced some thrown bearings and I'm going to have them checked but the only noticeable damage is some scratching where the bearings squashed out and rubbed on the edge of the big end. Yours for 350bux :(

Wiseco pistons, low compression 8.5:1, .040" overbore (was told, deffinately larger than oem when I checked with my caliper, will have them miked to confirm before sold). No damage, 15k km on them. $400

Main bearing support plate with mounting hardware. $50

Arp head stud and ARP main bearing cap studs. $150 for both

Dibs on the head studs if you'll take $75 shipped and they fit a 1.6. FM says their set fits all years, so I'm guessing this is the case.

Is the mbsp price shipped? It's a modded 01+ one right? If so dibs!

Regardless of what little damage occurred rods will need to be machined / re-honed you would then have to use some oversized rod bearings to compensate.

If price was lower i might snag em ;D

can you please update your FS post with specifics on what happened to the motor they were in--in the interest of full disclosure.

Yes and no. Remachined would be smart, but you would not need larger bearings. When remachining rods (also the same for main bores) they remove material off the cap's seating surface to make the big end hole smaller. Then they rebore/hone the hole so that it is exactly the correct diameter. Oversized bearing are only thicker inward, meaning the inside diameter of 2 shells is smaller. The outside diameter always is the same.

Also if a competent machine shop looks at them and says they are fine, or only need a slight hone to knock down any peaks to allow the bearing to seat properly then you are fine.

Full disclosure is like I said, the rod bearings on 3 of them were thrown, caused by insufficent oil flow. Damage on one of the 4 rod ends and it's pretty minor but I'll have it inspected

head studs are 100$ by themselves, mbsp is from an 01 and needs no modification to fit, your oil pan will need some clearancing or an proper mbsp oil pan.

Rods were checked out, damage from the bearing can be cleaned up with some bead blasting, and deemed minor. The engine builder said he would be more concerned with the heat the rod experienced causing them to weaken. I can see where he is coming from, he said if it were him he'd throw them away, I shed a tear. He said I could probably reuse them and never have any issues but to him it wasn't worth the risk. I explained the amount of power they were seeing as he was talking about turbo hondas and 700hp 4 cylinder builds as I too wouldn't run them in a 7-800hp motor but at 300whp I told him I highly doubt they'd be breaking even if they were subjected to the most terrible engine forces possible.

I'll keep them and use them again in another motor if no one wants to risk running them as I can't believe that the amount of heat they would have seen could cause them to weaken enough that they would hold less then a stock rod would.

Mbsp and head studs are basiclly spoken for, main bearing arp studs left, and pistons left.
