Stupid question: will the 1996 open bolt right into a 1994 with no other parts/mods? I have an OBX diff that I'd like to install.
Edit to make the question a bit less stupid... |
Rleete,
That was a stupid question! Maybe you meant to ask if the 96 open will fit in your 94 with no modifications and the answer is yes. |
Yes, the 1996 open diff assembly will bolt into a 1994 carrier.

The OBX diffs are actually good units. I know quite a few Honda folks using them in the 700+ Horsepower range. One thing they found was that they took it all apart and torqued everything nice and tight before it was installed in their transmision.
I'd rock an OBX diff if I did not have an SE car which came with one. |
Bump for a stand up guy!

No, stupid statement, thinking OBX makes a good differential in the first place. Comparison, would you trust Moss with making a differential?
Yeah, but it was cheap. I figure the worst is that it grenades, and I need to get the parts for the real deal. If not, great. I'm not pushing the car (no track days or autoX) hard enough that it should be a problem. |
rleete, why dont you just install it in your '94 which already has 7" diff?

Cjernigan might be interested in your PS delete, last I spoke to him he wanted one. Shoot him a PM or IM him.
