Don't mean to be an ***,but those don't look like HKS cam gears.
They look more like stock cam gears that was machined to be adjustable.

R.S. Aizawa said they were HKS camgears, and I have no problem trusting them.
#6
I'm not calling you a liar,I don't like seeing people on this forum paying that kind of money for something that is not what it is.
To me they look like stock cam gears that were machined.
Don't believe everything anyone tells you(even in the tuning world).I think they lied to you(R.S Aizawa).

Spike is correct, those are not HKS cam gears. These are what they should look like http://www.2kracing.com/popup_image.php/pID/4203
#8
Not exactly true. The ones you are referencing are newer HKS camgears. I know they're not just cut newer gears.
#9
They look just like my adjustable cam gear - and it's not HKS - it's a machined stock item.
I paid $60 AUD for one - so equate that back to USD.

You guys are wrong:
I did some research:
These are 1st Gen HKS camgears from back in the day when companies didn't make their own gears (if y'all can remember that far back).
Scan from HyperRev 1996 HKS ad:
Close up of gears in HKS ad for comparison:

O.K so we were wrong. But those cam gears have no vernier marks,so in other words they are just for looks.
#13
not for looks. Why do you need vernier marks? If you're dyno tuning it, it is irrelevant what the marks say, it's all about what the dyno says.
#14
Which is to say again that though they may be HKS if they are that old (aka...over 10 years) Why sell them at more than NEW HKS cam gears cost that are not just modified stock gears?
#15
Seriously, you can get brand new HKS cam gears for a Miata for $147. Those old school ones are worth $50 at a maximum. On the other hand, those of us who are bitching about the price always have the option of not buying them.
#16
That's 150 per gear, not for the pair. I'm asking 150 for the pair.
#17
Well best of luck to you on the sale...I actually kinda feel pretty stupid for making it seem like it was a bad deal.
G'luck.
