I bought this about 2 weeks ago and changed plans on my car...so it's for sale. Link piggyback ECU from Flyin Miata for a 99 miata. ECU, wire harness, and controller w/ display. $175 shipped anywhere in US.

I don't understand why these things don't sell. They keep your ECU legal so that inspections can be done. They are easy to install and tune. Basically a piggyback for $175? inexpensive... right? I have one in my '99 right now running 8-9psi. Controls everything that it needs to, even boost. I have the extra four injectors with the modified intake with no problems.

I thought about removing it to sell and go megasquirt so that I would have something different to play with, but the way it is going with this sale I might just use it as a paper weight.

Sorry about the ramble... but when it works as good as it does, kinda confused as to why no one wants it???

just a guess but because you have to keep the MAF?

and does it accept the output from a wideband?

Yeah, not sure why either. I've been trying to sell a TurboLink off my AVO kit (piggyback aux fuel controller), but no one's interested in cheap fuel control.

Yes to keep MAF, no to use Wideband. Although I do have a EGT and Wideband staring me in my face should anything go wrong. The tables that Fm gives you are pretty good, a little change here and there and you are SAFELY boosted.

true...but you cant always keep an eye on your wideband...datalogging afrs and boost/load is very important when tuning...mspnp, in my opinion is the best bang for buck!!!...

True but MSPNP is not available for '99 and up... For us a link piggy would be the next best thing.

just a guess but maybe they don't sell without having the modified intake manifold. Where would you put the extra injectors if you don't have the right Mani?

On my AVO kit, the extra injector went right before the throttle body (on the tube coming up from the intercooler).

Urban: not hard to install (even if you're not running an intercooler). You need to drill a hole large enough for the injector nozzle to pass through, and the injector mounting boss would surface mount to the pipe (whether it's an I/C pipe or plastic cross over pipe).

If you want pics of the injector mounting boss, PM me.

Mine does, and they are mounted on a replacement lower Intake manifold. Some only have one extra though.

Gotcha. Do you have a pic of what the lower mani looks like? I saw the 4 injector harnesses on the FM webisite and just assumed that's what they all used. 4 Injectors hanging off the cold side pipe would look a bit odd.

Flyin Miata still has the extra injector lower intake manifold for like $300? My link has the harness with the extra 4 injector plug...AND...I still have it for sale. Buy it please.

I thought some of the 99+ kits from FM had a single extra injector before the throttle body?

My kit is by AVO (Garrett T28-based, cast manifold, intercooled), and it had just a single injector.

AFAIK the AVO's used a single injector, and all the early FM kits for the NB used the 4 extra injectors. dont know if that helps

Here are the only pics that I have of the setup off the car.

Thirdgen, I'm not trying to hijack your thread... my kit is still in my car and won't be for sale until I get the Megasquirt.

Good luck with the sale,
Joel

I suspect they don;t sell because there are too many better options available now. I am insalling a Hydra this summer and am not even going to bother to try to sell the Link Piggy. Anyone who has done their research, would not want one. Best I can hope for, is to sell the injectors.
