I got a whole kit to put on a build I am working on and then found a wrecked Mazdaspeed to use for parts. It's described in this FS thread:
https://www.miataturbo.net/miata-parts-sale-trade-5/begi-garrett-1-6-turbo-kit-lot-large-pics-61214/ I have decided to part out the kit since it didn't the whole 1.6 kit didn't get a lot of attention. I am including the turbo and the braided lines pictured here. The manifold, DP and assorted bits shown in the other thread will be sold separately. This is Garrett part number 739548-5010. Since most of you guys don't know who the hell I am, I asked Bob Bundy to take a quick look at the turbo. His comments are here from post #28 on the other thread:

Yea I can confirm the turbo is in great shape. My guess was that it was a 2860RS sounds like the part number confirms that.
http://www.sonicperformance.com.au/7...stegate/pd.php Compressor inlet has been modified to custom diameter. probably so it fits with the other Bell engineering parts. Tell me about that welding job...

Those welds look like the work of begi to me.... my 2560 was originally begi has both inlet and outlet changed.

Yes, it came from BEGI originally. I can post some close up pictures of the inlet when I get home tonight but it is a professional welding job, not a DIY hackfest.

Here are pics of the inlet. It is very well done and the inside is very smooth.

Do most potatos come with a 2.5" or 3" inlet?

I wonder why Garrett have the turbo inlets looking like this with a steepp cone angle:
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1324576301 Does it help the aero? Does air "swirl" in like water draining in a sink, because of the rotation of the compressor blades? Why not make the transition angle shallow like this?: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1324576274 |
Someone did some fluid dynamics testing on these. I can't imagine something as fundamental as the shape of the inlet is by chance.

Any chance you'd sell me just the feed/drain lines and fittings?
