.80 A/R is stock for this turbo, here is a picture off wikipedia of the same turbo

you're thinking of turbine a/r which I think is .64

Huh. I could swear I've seen these offered for sale with compressor A/Rs anywhere from .48 to (apparently) .80. But a peek at the Garrett site shows you're right.

Question: a turbine with a larger A/R increases power potential at the expense of response...what's the effect of higher/lower A/R on the compressor (turbine A/R aside)?
