GB feeler - Turn signal projector
Thinking about doing a small GB run (if its ok with the mods) on a turn signal headlight kit. Wont be a whole lot in it for me - but its something I could do for the community. It would be very similar to Aidan's design, I talked with him briefly and he didn't have an issue with it. I would make it PNP as possible.
What I could provide: - Modded clear depo style T/S housing - Pair of hella 60mm projectors - PNP wire harness - Switchback halos for parking/TS light - All the brackets and hardware - detailed instructions with templates on where to put brackets/drill holes. I *think* I could do it for around $250-$275 shipped.. You'd be on your own for the headlight lid solution. Some people may want to DIY that, get the Singular brackets, ISC hood - ton of options there. Would there be any interest? |
So ignore the fact that i am an idiot but could you send a link or a pic as to what this is? It sounds like turn signals in a headlight housing but i am mot sure . thanks!
|
I would be down for a set. Do you have pictures of the brackets you would plan to use?

May be interested. I'd love to get rid of my Pop up motors.

I'm in for a kit

Having my car apart and looking at this further... this mod requires r&r’ing of the bumper cover and trimming the radiator support. Anyone who can do that, can surely splice up a PNP harness and cut their turn signal housing... because of the radiator support issue it wouldn’t truly be a bolt on, plug ‘n play solution, no matter how well I package the kit. The only real convinence is having everything arrive in one box... .. anyhow I don’t thing there would be much value in it to you guys. there is already Aidan’s excellent thread on how to to it for those interested. |
I’m in for a set. Let me know if you need a deposit to get started. Been wanting to do this for a while but am just too lazy. |
I would be interested if it’s ready to ship before August, as I will start looking for holes for Intercooler piping around then. This frees up so much room. $250 would be fair pricing. |
Interested.

Guys I appreciate the support on this! I’ve got a couple things I’ve got to knock out in my personal life before I can get this rolling... I can’t accept any deposits or make any promises yet, but seems like enough demand for a small run of kits that I won’t be left sitting high and dry on. |
Also interested

Cool. I ordered parts for the first kit. Hopefully have an update in a couple weeks. |
Interested as well. Would love to shed the weight of the headlights.
|
This is still going, guys. Some parts for kit #1 are still on the slow boat from China. Once I get that kit going and the bugs shaken out, I can start getting going on this.

Pics of completed kit?

Yes, some good not so good. Ive got all the parts FINALLY for kit #1, which will go on my car while I sort out any bugs. One of which took a couple weeks. I also stared on getting the harnesses laid out. The bad bad thing is I’ve had little time to work on my car... I was driving it Daily until during routine maintenance I found a couple valves way too tight - and I may need a full rebuild which is kind of depressing. It’s torn down now. seeing couple bumps on this thread though gives me some motivation:) I’ll do my best to get an update this weekend. |

Untitled by me, on Flickr Made some progress... no ETA yet. I would work on it this weekend- but I'll be out of town, so probably no updates for a week or so. Was a lot of cutting for something that "almost" fits. |

Cool!
Did some more work last night.. many dremel wheels sacrificed. Looks like the recommended projector location for this kit the projector will be under the radiator support rather than fore or aft.. This will give us enough clearance between the projector and the bumper cover without requiring cutting of the cover, while maximizing under hood room - the projectors won't protrude too far into the engine bay. This method will require the most cutting of the support, a small price to pay I think since this mod will require cuts no matter what.. OTOH, the installer would still have flexibility to change that up if so desired. Updates in a week or so.. Too early for ETA since Kit #1 is still in progress. Don't want to ship anything that isn't half baked. |
Been struggling with relay problems for the motors, kept thinking it’s all for naught as they’ll be replaced soon (hopefully). |
Can we see pics of the install without the cover ?
|
Interested in a set as well.
|
Thanks for the interest! I’ve taken plenty of pics - they will be in the install guide. Still wont be an ETA for a bit. Plan to make more progress this week, though. |
So I've been testing kit #1 for a few days... Light output absolutely blows stock away - its on par with low beams on my Moss kit. They are tough to photograph, though.

If I like them - I'll probably sell this kit at a discount to get some feedback, then I'll be ready to make a "run" of them |
Looks great! Much excite

Thanks to the interest here I started ordering the parts for 5 kits. Will probably be a couple weeks before I get everything in, depends on suppliers. |

For those on the fence... projectors YES... square offroad or foglights NO. Just trust me on that... I tried it in the old Miotta and it SUCKED without a real light in there.
|
What all will the kit include now that you have it mostly ironed out? What will we have to do for install?
