Group Buy: Beginner Datalogging Set and Advanced Datalogging Set
Well, the reaction wasn't quite as positive as I was hoping for, but it seems that there are at least a few smart fellas that want to learn the fine art of datalogging. If everyone were local, then of course I'd invite you to just back right up into my garage and we'd go at it in person, but there's another option.
I'm offering two levels of datalogging equipment here. Beginner Datalogging Set -- $39.95 (plus $8.95 S&H) What it contains: 1. Masking tape 2. Sharpie marker http://tooseart.ca/images/masking%20tape.jpg http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk/prods/full/PEN-FULL.jpg With this amazing set, you'll be well on your way to the exciting world of datalogging. When you show up at the F Prod meet with this set, you'll be able to laugh at all the ricers and posers passing you on the track. Possible uses include: Aerodynamics, Suspension Set-up, Vehicle Control Training, Pulling Lint off of Sweaters, Writing Things Down, Masking Things off for Paint, Social Icebreakers, Fashion Accessories, Measuring Shit, and more! Your imagination is the only limit. So by now you're asking, who needs an Advanced Datalogging Set when the Beginner set is so amazing? Well, read on, my friend: Advanced Datalogging Set -- $79.95 (plus $8.95 S&H) What it contains: 1. Different size masking tape 2. Multi-color Sharpie markers http://images.drillspot.com/pimages/2093/209366_300.jpg http://image.misterart.com/grouppix/...7000/g7553.jpg Overwhelming, isn't it? All the possibilities of the Beginner Datalogging Set, but multiplied by size and color. Just think -- you're standing in pit row at the 1993 F Prod Nationals, eyeing the 38th-place qualifier, looking for that final edge to move you out of 39th place and into the coveted, elite TOP 38 (in racer's circles, we call that group the .38 Special). You notice that your left rear Raceland shock body appears to be bent and leaking fluid -- what do you do? You reach for your datalogging set and yank off a strip of masking tape to repair it. But -- what's this? The 1" wide masking tape isn't big enough to seal the leak! You've got just minutes to go before you make your final attempt at erasing the 23 seconds that stand between you and 38th place. No worries -- you coolly and calmly reach for your 2" wide masking tape -- because you invested in the Advanced Datalogging Set. You grab your blue Sharpie marker, record the date and time, then describe the problem with your red Sharpie marker, and then write down your solution with the green Sharpie marker. The corner worker in turn #3 is eyeing your datalogging equipment -- looks like you won't have a problem finding company for your victory dinner at the Olive Garden. Payment Options Now, I'm going to be investing in the materials required to run this group buy, but that means a big initial capital outlay for me personally, so I'm requiring that all interested parties pay up front using PayPal's "gift" option, and honestly, at these prices, I am giving you guys a gift, so I think that's perfectly appropriate. Once all parties are payed, I'll be building the orders and shipping in order of my own preference. Due to the high likelihood of carrier theft of these highly-desirable datalogging sets, I cannot offer shipping insurance or guaranteed delivery -- buyers must handle their own claims for lost or damaged shipments. Please post in this thread if you are interested, and once we have enough folks to justify the order, I'll start sending out PayPal information. |
can we get just two green and one black sharpie? what about blue masking tape? I heard on another forum that it helps with aero.

I'd like two of the basic kits. I'll use the first one to practice while riding as a passenger in my wife's Montero Sport, then use the other once I've grown proficient. You can't be too careful when logging on the track. Data is important stuff. And I have a dark colored sweater. |
+1 for reporting on the threadcrapping!

Does it include a swedish hooker to do the datalogging?
|
Is there a lay away plan available?
|
Data logging is over rated. Just drive the car

It's my understanding that, in the 60's, the Sharpie and tape roll combination was actually The Unfair Advantage.

Is there any sort of extended warranty? I've heard at least one story of the G-force sharpie datalogger blowing out when hitting the windshield during braking.
