Converting my car from auto-x only to track duty so I am getting rid of my aluminum seat. The brackets will let you mount a stock seat belt receiver and were used to mount directly to the floor pan. The cover was cut at the belt to allow fast swapping with a poured insert. Also, some of the foam has been sliced out of cover.

$140 for all of it. Local pickup only, located in downtown durham.

These are great track seats. This price is very cheap. I'm using 16in version with a 34-36 inch waist for reference to prospective buyers.

Good luck with sale.

Did you only bolt it to the floor? Don't these need a back brace too?
If I was Local I'd totally buy this. If you sell the seat only I'd grab the brackets.

It was bolted to the floor with the angle stock. The holes in the bottom of the seat are to clearance fasteners so it can go lower. A back brace is definitely a good idea- I barely drove my car on the street and mostly just used it for auto-x so I didn't run one.

Mine is bolted through the floor in the rear and I made brackets to the stock mounting points in front. My seat location is far enough back it doesn't need a bracket for the back.

I would use a bracket if you had more than an inch of room for seatback contact with either the aluminum or the plastic (fiberglass) seats.

Bump- Price drop to $120. Someone come buy this from me.

These are great, comfortable seats. I'm frankly surprised they are still for sale. Would buy.

Bump- I still have this and want it out of my garage. It's on CL for $120. $100 for MT people.

I'm not going to ship it.

Not trying to derail your thread, but I am interested in your mounting brackets. I just did something like this with 1/4 x 4 x 4" aluminum. It works well, is light, and super cost effective but I would like the seating position to be a bit further towards the right (passenger side) of the car. I noticed that you notched the one bracket for clearance of the trans tunnel. Did you also hammer on the tunnel for fitment? Did you fear that you weakened the metal by making the radius cut?

asmasm 01-22-2016 08:15 AM

I didn't hammer the transmission tunnel much but the seat wasn't 100% centered. The transmission tunnel comes in at a angle and I had the seat completely on the floor, if it was maybe a 1/2" higher the bracket could slide over to the right more.

90civichhb 01-22-2016 08:23 AM

Yeah, seating is hard to center when you get that low with angle stock. My car sounds like it is driven about as much as yours with a few mountain runs 1 or 2 times a year. Great setup for a dedicated car. Great price as well. I paid $125 just for my Kirkey from the mid 1990s. $40 for the aluminum and probably 4 or 5 hours install time and many more hours research. Great setup for someone looking to do a budget autocross/HPDE build. All the hard work has been done.

Would be mine if you lived in the right state.
