Mazdaspeed MSM 2.5" exhaust
 

I initially posted this in a general MSM parts post. I've sold everything else and totally botched my description of the exhaust in the first post, so I though this exhaust warranted a little better (more accurate) post.

When tearing my MSM down I started at the front of the car and just got the catback portion of the exhaust out. At first glance I thought it must be an FM exhaust (based on the midpipe). It is clearly NOT an FM product.

This appears to be a good aftermarket stainless midpipe with a high flow cat. I do not know the brand and to be honest didn't care enough to find out. The rear section is not stainless. It is 2.5" aluminized exhaust tubing with a Magnaflow muffler. It does have a nice 4" stainless tip.

I think the midpipe was purchased, but the back section was assembled by a muffler shop.

It did fit the car perfectly. There were no exhaust leaks and it sounded pretty good. The welds aren't pretty but they are effective. The stainless tip has some melted plastic on it that I couldn't see until I dropped it off the car. It could use a general cleanup but will work just fine as it is.

$200 (less than the cost of the midpipe)
