Megasquirt Development

I know several people here are electronic savy and dont need this service but.....

I have a computer geek friend who is going to be assembling megaquirts for miata specific aplications to be sold though my company at a later date. As of now I want to do a prototype run to figure out what were going to be offering with it and make sure everything runs to spec. I only need 1 of each of the following 1.6, 1.8obd I, and 1.8 obdII, but if more people are interested we will can definately work with you.

Im offering it at my cost of 450 for all the following: Megasquirt I V3 assembled with assembled stim board, 18inch pigtail harness with wires labled for splicing. I will help you thoughout the process of getting it to run and tuning it afterwards(if you dont have a labtop I will help you tune it with mine to get it running good). If your interested PM me or hit me up on AIM (sn ADriverforlife).

you know, i bet there would be a good response also for various harness that split the Stock ecu harness into two harness', one for the stock ecu and the other for megasquirt. Then each could separately control various functions. This would get people off the fence who dont want to cut their ecu harness. It is much easier to control idle, ac pickup, ps pickup, stock tachometer, etc with the stock ecu hooked up.

An example would be a harness that allowed fuel control with MS and timing, idle, gauges, etc with stock ecu. Or one that allows full fuel and timing control and still retaining OBDII compliance by allowing the stock ecu to still control everything else.

Also, if your freind is assembling megasquirts, it would be helpful for people to already have a rough base map loaded on it already.

Just a few thoughts. Maybe you should put this in the MS thread, Im not a huge fan of crossposting, but i think this case might be an exception ...

well like I said, this is just the development stage to find out whats easy for us to offer and make it worth it to people. At this point I dont want to toss in a lot of variables like plug in harnesses and such that we would have to wonder if thats why its not working. That will all come later on.

I am in southern california. Like I said above its the hardware above thats included. I want to see how many sensers need to be added to the miatas own to get it to run, hense the development part of this. I know it will need an air intake senser, which happens to be a 12.99 part at pepboys(i know because I work there and I get bored)

Which Pep Boys do you work at? I find Pep Boys to be more expensive than Autozone, both of which are within a block of eachother. Autozone is generally 1$ cheaper on almost everything.
