Did they come black or were they painted...if so, how

chris101 08-19-2010 08:40 AM

They came from the factory in black (new option of black just introduced about a month ago)

Ship to 13669, NY?

Thanks

chris101 08-21-2010 08:42 PM

Ship cost to 13669 is $128 (fedex ground home delivery in 4 boxes with $200 declared value each for insurance, would cost more to insure at $300 or $400 each as an fyi)

Chris, you ever ship wheels & tires in just buy strapping them together into bundles of 2? The cost of shipping goes way down using that method.

I'm not new to shipping tires or wheels or wheels and tires (been doing it over 15 years)

Recently, Fedex started surcharging for unboxed wheels and/or tires. I got a nasty surprise $30 extra fee for being unboxed back in March about a month after I shipped something because I didn't realize FedEx started to charge extra for things not being boxed.

The problem with 'strapping' 2 wheels and tires together is you end up over 70 pounds for one box when you factor in the weight of the cardboard/packaging materials and anything over 70 pounds causes a $30 surcharge as well.

Shipping wheels/tires as 4 boxes is the most cost effective method to ship these days!

Oh yeah, someone insisted that Greyhound was cheapest --- it isn't. Greyhound has a 100 pound limit per box meaning it would have to be in 2 boxes. I had looked it up for someone in Ohio (from Chicago to Ohio) 2 boxes would have cost $86 EACH so FedEx ground was cheaper at $88 total to Ohio!!! (greyhound is NOT as cheap as people might think once you get to 100 pounds!)

chris101 09-09-2010 04:25 PM

Unfortunately ship costs to WA/CA/OR are most expensive and really won't make the package as appealing :(

chris101 09-23-2010 10:37 PM
