so I talked to the dyno operator/tuner and he said that he didn't touch the boost controller during then pulls. So basically the dyno chart you see there is power made off the boost creeping wastegate. At least from what I'm told.

EBC can probably help with spool some, but if you are happy with the car, then just enjoy it. You are making good numbers.

I had a dream you took over a Chinese factory to get in new turbos. It was like a Christmas miracle. I guess I'm getting excited for turbo...

I think that was Braineack running the turbo on his begi manifold and downpipe.

I got two messages asking where I tapped my oil pan. Here's a picture.

When anyone asks me where to tap the oil pan, I always point to the FM Turbo install directions, section 4. FM has written the best directions on where and how to do it. Better then I ever could so I don't even try to better.

On the bright side, replacements are cheap. I think that's the first one out of 20 or so.

He is the second guy to have any sort of an issue. The first had something go through and mess up the compressor wheel, he swapped on a new garrett wheel and was good to go. This is the first time I have seen one of the turbo's die completely.

That was ScottyP IIRC, and yes he was good to go after a compressor wheel swap. I think he over boosted to 17.5psi on the 1/4 mile running mid 13's.

Sadly went out on my way to my 2nd track day -- was trying to catch up to some motorcycles and then boom - no boost - must be boost leak right? Went around rechecked every single clamp and coupler - still not resolved...

Took the car out the next night and started driving it around with it making no boost - I floored it and it started boosting for about 2 seconds, Caught me by surprise - all i could see was a cloud of smoke covering the silver NB miata behind me

I had a filter on it so I'm pretty certain something didn't make its way in

I have a lot of cleaning to do now in prep for the replacement turbo...

I wonder if something else caused it to jam or something. Then it went pop from pressure or something. Seems odd to stop making boost for a bit then go pop.
