My whole EMU setup.

My Megasquirt is in and running, and so the time has come for me to part ways with my old EMU system. And through this exclusive MiataTurbo.net offer, you can outfit yourself with a complete, ready-to-go EMU setup: just add WBO2 sensor and tune.

That’s right, you get everything: the EMU, the 4-bar MAP sensor with cable, the wideband AFR input cable, and the official Greddy DIY Harness bundle*. This offer is not available in stores, and if you act now, all this can be yours for the amazingly low price of only $399.99, a savings of almost 50% off the regular retail cost!

But wait, there’s more. As a special bonus we’ll also include the original, one of a kind “Joe Perez” EMU O2 sensor clamp. Not just any sensor clamp, this is the one that started it all- the original, caseless prototype, lovingly preserved and in mint condition, mounted to a special collector’s edition piece of scrap aluminum that I found on the floor of my garage. Don’t miss this amazing once in a lifetime opportunity to own an exceedingly minor piece of genuine** Mazda history.

Supplies are limited, so order now!

* Harness is missing the following wires: IGN channels 5 and 6 (pins 1,2,6,7) and Airflow (frequency) input / VTM output (pin 21). Also, several other wires are not the correct color, these are noted in the manual.

** Not genuine Mazda history.

Yes, you can own the shiniest engine management computer on the block. Red may be fast, but chrome is faster!

The official 4-bar MAP sensor, with cable:

Here's the cable for connecting the Wideband O2 sensor. Yeah, it's just a cable, but normally it's a $20 cable:

The wiring harness. This is the splice-it-yourself variety. Several of the wires have been cut to length for my car and terminated. Several others (which are not relevant to a Miata) are either missing or have been cut short simply because I needed some extra wire for other projects. The shortest ones are about 8", most of the rest are close to 36":

The O2 sensor clamp. The metal bar is both the heatsink and the means for attaching it to a nearby object, such as the bracket that your factory ECU is mounted on:

This is a girl I had a crush on back in '93. Her name is Lindsey. She is not included with the package, and is in fact completely irrelevant:

Joe sorry to see you go to the dark side, i hope you see light again soon so you can help us out when ever we get in a mess, btw i built your clamp & it has done wonders over the older guy clamp (sorry older guy) but its a completely car now that i can control it when i want & not when it wants, i'll try & twist a few guys arms over here for the complete set up as its way too good a price to pass up as long as your willing to send it all the way to down under land !!!

good luck mate

You may consider posting this on mazda-speed.com. I started a thread over there when I started my EMU install and a few guys over there are interested in doing the same. The skeptics over there said it wouldn't work on a mazdaspeed miata. I'm well on my way to proving that theory wrong.

Don't worry, I'll still check in on the EMU group from time to time. Can't forget your roots. And I'm glad the circuit has worked out for you. Until Chris Swearengen makes the jump to MS as well, hope is not lost.

I'm trying to keep it "in the family" so to speak. The last think I need is some dipshit who can't even spell EMU blaming me because "my EMU blew up his engine" after he tried racing his car while autotuning on a NBO2 or something.

I know what you mean. Everyone over there told me it would not work because the MSM is "special" a turbo car is a turbo car for the most part, the principle are the same. Oh, and one anti greddy guy keep telling me how the EMU burns up your coil packs.

It apparently can, on a 1.8, if you don't set the ignition voltage jumper correctly. There have been some confirmed cases. We eventually determined that the 1.6 ECU outputs a +5 ignition trigger, while the 1.8 ECUs (all the ones that were tested, anyway) output a +12 pulse.

What bugs me is why the MS guys aren't having this problem... But that's a different thread.

msydnor 02-04-2008 12:50 PM

Any chance you'd seperate the map sensor from the rest of the stuff?
