Would you seperate the wheel from the airrbag? Can't ship the bag.

TheScaryOne 03-17-2014 04:27 AM

I was under the impression that no compressed gas = good to ship ground. I'll give Fedex a call in the morning and see what the deal is.

Dunning Kruger Affect 03-17-2014 03:22 PM

You can't ship an airbag.

Wow look at this buzzkill.

TheScaryOne 03-17-2014 03:42 PM

I just called my local UPS store, and they said as long as it's packed well in a box from one individual to another (no businesses) and shipped via ground there's no problem. *shrug* Didn't quote me extra on hazmat or anything.

Fedex told me I'd need to be hazmat certified with federal certification and would have to submit destructive testing of the unit for it to be approved for shipping, even as an individual.

Looks like the packaging is an anti-static bag, a heavy box available from UPS, vermiculite, and bubble wrap. I have everything but the heavy box.

Apparently, auto recyclers rejected the extraneous shipping laws for "recycled" air bags, and got them approved as an ORM-D shipment. According to the NHSTA, "Recycled airbags are salvaged nondeployed airbags removed from damaged or old vehicles." Which means I can ship them. Apparently Fedex is assuming that I'm re/manufacturing airbags and trying to sell them.

Does the manifold come with the fuel rail?

TheScaryOne 03-17-2014 09:50 PM

It does not. I'll be using the fuel rail.

TorqueZombie 03-19-2014 09:14 PM

I don't need the bag, just the wheel. Already have a bag here, but the wheel disintegrated.

TheScaryOne 03-20-2014 12:49 AM

How's $50 shipped sound?

TheScaryOne 03-25-2014 03:16 AM

Too expensive? Shoot me a counter offer. Bump.

speedingbolt 03-25-2014 02:24 PM

If Torque Zombie doesn't what the wheel let me know I'll take it.

Don't believe everything you hear. You can get on Ebay at any moment and buy an airbag.

TheScaryOne 03-26-2014 01:39 PM

Wheel sold to TorqueZombie.

Just figured out I have 200# burstproof boxes available at work. So I have everything needed to ship an airbag.

TheScaryOne 04-02-2014 02:27 PM

Bump!

TheScaryOne 04-09-2014 04:42 AM

I know most of this stuff isn't really for this site. But bump. Make me an offer.

gdoehl 04-09-2014 11:34 AM

You got the clock spring for the airbag? Shoot me a text or pm 9049554175. 20 shipped to 35126 work?

TheScaryOne 04-09-2014 12:17 PM

The clockspring is under my hub adapter, making my horn still work, so it's not available. Thanks for the interest!

TheScaryOne 04-26-2014 03:23 PM

Bzzzump.

Prices are negotiable! I can no longer edit OP!
