how much are you asking for the 99 motor?

AbeFM 07-21-2009 12:44 AM

I was hoping to get $1200 per motor, it's a bit more for the 99 because there's no VVT, and a bit more for the 2001 for the fresh rebuild and lower comp pistons (though I could swap in stockers if wanted.) I'm a bit flexible on price, but I've already had some offers.

Abe, did Ian get in touch with you about the intake manifold?

What's your current deal on the "molested" four bung 99 mani?

And do you have a spare INTAKE cam sprocket (all the goodies) for the 01?

I think it was Ian? heh, I forgot. Someone bought one. :-)

Oh, nothing, just have to dig it out. Personally, for messing around, it's the one to use. You just patch some little holes, for testing you could just put bolts in.

Yeah, I have a junk '01 head, I think - someone wanted to buy it I'll have to see if I didn't sell it. If I didn't, sure, I'll get you a mani and a gear. Sorry I've been so distracted lately. I should throw in some stock cut springs to sweeten the deal. :-P

MSM intake manifold avialable???

AbeFM 08-19-2009 05:27 PM

Gosh, no. I don't even know what it looks like. How do they differ from the '99?

They dont have VICS...

AbeFM 08-20-2009 12:17 AM

Does it have the 2001 "tumble" plates? You'd think just removing the VICS would pretty much do you. I'll have to sneak a peak next time I see one.

y8s 08-20-2009 09:58 AM

the tumble plates are a problem on turbo cars. especially with smaller turbos. too much airflow when they're closed = seriously choked flow when you step on the gas. they are only for cold start anyway.

I'm surprised it doesn't have VICS.

AbeFM 08-20-2009 03:01 PM

Me too. I kinda expected the '99 manifold which is not a bad part if you keep flow within a factor of 3 from stock.
