NB MP62 kit w/ TDR intercooler
KIT IS SOLD
For sale is a BRP R3 supercharger that came off of a 2001 Mazda Miata. It should fit any 01-05 with no mods, and I believe the 99-00 years as well. The setup includes the supercharger, intercooler, injectors, pulleys, and tensioner. You will need to have a boost ready car to install this and not immediately blow up your engine and clutch. I did buy some other supporting mods such as a fuel pump, clutch, etc etc that I would like to sell as well, but not until the supercharger is sold. I'm not dead set about never installing this, I've just got too many other fun things to do right now, including track days, to want to fight with megasquirt and have a less reliable Miata in the meantime. Call me names, whatever, but I had a lot of trouble with mine and that's why this was never installed. Guess you shouldn't buy parts before you know you can use them. I purchased this kit early last year as a take off from a running, driving 2001 car that was getting reverted to stock. The whole kit is in extremely good condition. The supercharger itself was made in 2009 and is in very good shape. I have copied and pasted some of the original ad text below. I can provide the whole original ad, including more pictures on the car it came from, to anyone with serious interest. The only thing I have done to change the kit from how it was sold to me was to strip the peeling black paint off of the supercharger outlet and repaint it silver.

I have a VVT swapped NA6. Will this fit under the hood? I know the JR NB superchargers intake wouldn't fit under the hood, but this kit looks to not be as high. Also, does the TDR intercooler kit require any cutting?

1. The VVT oil feed block should be higher than the MP62 itself. 2. The NB installation requires the radiator mounts to be modified a little and then dropped to use the lower set of holes in the frame rails. This lets the tubing fit over the radiator and take advantage of the factory clearance. It still required trimming of the upper cross support in front of the radiator by about a inch to clear the piping. Not sure on the NA. You can ask them. Maybe they offer whatever parts are different? Hope that helps. |
As bahurd said, the intercooler setup requires you to relocate the top radiator support. Again, that bracket is included, but it fits the NB. While I'm sure you could somehow make the NB TDR intercooler work on the NA, the piping and shrouds would probably be more work than it's worth compared to buying the NA kit. You'd almost surely lose the drop in factor and cleanliness trying to make it fit. The radiator support is one of the few areas they changed significantly from NA to NB.
Otherwise, I'd expect the supercharger portion to bolt right in without needing to cut the hood. It's below the OEM NB2 strut tower brace in the installed picture - and I think that brace will clear the NA hood. |
How much for just the tdr intercooler kit shipped to California? Thanks

I've gotten some questions now about selling the intercooler and the charger seperate. I'd be willing to do that if I can line up a buyer for both at the same time. So if an NA owner wants to come up with their own intercooler solution, and an NB guy wants an intercooler for an MP62, I could make that work.
As I've said I am not ruling out eventually installing this on my own car. It's harder to do that if I have to reassemble a complete kit. |
Hi there, interesting me only the charger with outlet and bypass valve + throttle body + mounting kit + crankshaft pulley . If this is possible write the prise for it. Thanks!
