Went to $70 today to your door(see first post edit)

O2 clamp works nicely on MSM WHILE IN CLOSED LOOP. It does not cure the problems with the fuel pump and other glitches on the MSM fueling system.

Then the O2 clamp will help a lot while in closed loop.

Cut one wire and connect the two ends to the switch, tap positive and negative 12 volts and run an additional wire to the switch. Tap a vacuum line.

There are adjustments for clamp onset pressure and clamp voltage, but in most cases they need not be touched.

Email me and I will send instructions.

I'm probably gonna need one of these with my setup, got the Bipes and running with the stock Vortech. Gonna run the 190hp fuel pump and maybe later turn up the boost with the 1.8 injectors.

Sent an email with an inquiry.

Bruce, so it sounds like this will help any turbo without an advanced fuel management system.....Does it matter if I have a 4 wire O2 hooked up?...

I also don't quite understand the 'closed loop' issue......why does the stock ecu map try to starve the engine of fuel? is it emissions based?
Any other suggestions considering my set-up below..

Thank you much
Dan

Standalones do not need an O2 clamp. Anyplace that the ECU stays in the circuit, it will try to keep the AFR at Stoich (14.7 AFR) at all times that it is in closed loop. Closed loop is when it is relying on the signal from the O2 sensor.

Depending on the Model and type of ECU, it will go out of closed loop, into open loop, at some point based on airflow and/or RPM. At that point it ignores the signal from the oxygen sensor and uses internal maps to make the mixture richer, but not rich enough for boost.

A four wire is just a one wire with a heater to get it to operating temp faster and keep it there.

Thank you for the explanation on the 4 wire O2 and now I understand closed loop and open loop, Thank you...and the O2 clamp only assists fuel delivery in open loop situations...

When does the miata go into open loop?

What are you considering standalone?

Will my car/set-up benifit from your product?

Thank you appreceiate your time and the education

No, the O2 clamp assists only in closed loop situations to keep the ECU from pulling fuel that you add by other means. It can cause the ECU to add fuel if it is set at a very lean signal.

If yours is a 90, it goes into open loop at about 4000 RPM

Standalone would be anything that completely replaces the ECU, like Megasquirt. The Emanage units are considered piggybacks.

Yes.

You are welcome.

Installation ?.....with Bipes what side should the bipes be conected to the 02 wire...on the ecu side of the 02 clamp or on the 02 side of the 02 clamp...

Does it matter?

bipes doesn't connect to the o2 signal at all...

bipes is for timing, o2 clamp is for fuel
