NorCal: VVT motor
I'm about to pull out my 2001 motor so I can drop in my K24. See my build thread here.
It made 136hp and 115ft/lbs on a NASA-accepted Dynojet. I just calculated the average horsepower per the NASA ST formula and it's 127.55hp. This was with a catalytic and a standard intake manifold. Remove the cat, add a square top and you could probably make more power. Tune was done by Andrew at Trackspeed back a couple years If you wanted to put your NA at the front of ST6, this kit would be a good start. In fact, I think you'd have to de-tune it a bit or carry some ballast. The motor had something silly like 18k on it when I pulled it out of a friend's wrecked SE. I've lost track, but I'd guess I've added less than 5k since then, but I don't make any promises. Motor alone, including SuperMiata coolant reroute, $1k. You pick up in San Jose, CA. I have an engine hoist to load it into your vehicle. I'm willing to sell as a kit, with over-the-radiator intake, Racing Beat header, Mazda Motorsports test pipe, un-resonated Racing Beat Power Pulse cat-back, and the home-built Megasquirt 3x that runs it for ... $1750? Heck, you buy it all for $1750 and don't screw me around, I'll throw in the 5 speed absolutely free! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...17cff5b169.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...bbd49d9318.jpg |
