Interested in the 6 speed. Are you willing to ship?I'm in Virginia so, it might not be cost effective for me.

Edit: This was essentially me, thinking out loud. What a lame post.

Stock 11-14-2014 04:59 PM

I'm willing to ship but I'm with you, I think that the cost would be ridiculous.

99mx5 11-14-2014 05:12 PM

Shipping a transmission via Greyhound would cost around $100.

There you go - $700 shipped for the tranny.

FYI. If Greyhound isn't available for an interested buyer, I recently paid $216.17 to ship a 6 speed from Riverside, CA to Chesapeake, VA via UPS ground. It should be about $40-$60 less if you ship to a business address.

Stock 11-20-2014 10:06 AM

Just to update everyone - the motor was making a really shitty noise when I pulled in into one of our bays to get the wheels off the car (hence why they've been pulled from the add.) The initial plan was to drive to a friends house to begin disassembly but obviously I don't want to do that with an engine issue so I'm trying to arrange having it trailered out there.

Sorry for the delay everyone.

ayoustin 11-20-2014 05:45 PM

What do you mean by shell? Like bare shell or will it still have body panels?

No drivetrain, suspension, wheels, interior.

turbofan 11-20-2014 06:55 PM

Hmm.................

What kind of shape is the shell in? You're going to be pulling control arms and stuff, or just the shocks/springs?

Spinout007 11-21-2014 09:17 PM

Check out ShipNex dot com for shipping rates on things like the trans. Just sent ~170lbs worth of wheels through FedEx from FL to WA in about a week for around 180.

GLWS! If we weren't buying a house very soon I would be taking some parts off your hands.

Hi there,

i'll be interested by your complete "cop kit" but it will work on a bpd engine ? (mazda familia gtr).

Cheers.

Stock 11-29-2014 09:42 AM

Update: Car finally made it to my friends garage for disassembly earlier this week, unfortunately Thanksgiving and my son's 1st birthday party being this weekend really limited the time I could spend working on it.

However, 80% of the parts that are sold are off the car, I'm going to be nabbing boxes from work so that I can start getting everything packaged up and ready to ship - hopefully tracking numbers by mid next week.

Could you post or PM me pictures of the oil cooler setup? Did you have an oil temp gauge to determine how much your temps were actually reduced?

Super interested in trading my MS for a 90-93 unit....

impulsive.ca 12-18-2014 08:43 AM

What's included in the MSPNP? Looking to see if this would do on my f/i application. I can't PM due to this being my first post...

Stock 12-18-2014 10:04 AM

You pay me, I ship to you, you plug it in along with a few other basic MS setup steps, load a base map and drive.

It includes the the GM IAT sensor and the seq-inj box.

impulsive.ca 12-18-2014 10:20 AM

yeah, pass. looking more towards a MSPNP2... Thanks anyway.

It's the same, they both use the microsquirt module.

I'm confused, is what he has not a DIY kit he pieced together and not the full MSPNP2?

99mx5 12-18-2014 01:36 PM

The difference is you have to build the DIYPNP yourself. I know because I built this unit for him.

From DIYaytotune:

"DIYAutoTune.com is proud to introduce the DIYPNP - the build it yourself kit for plug and play engine management systems! These kits use the newly released MicroSquirt Module as a core, giving you MS2 processing power and speed and the incredibly long MS2/Extra featureset. You can jumper the kits for a wide variety of vehicles; many of these kits have literally dozens of different applications. Complete documentation is online, covering how to assemble the unit and customize it for a wide variety of cars. Each DIYPNP kit comes with a black anodized case to give the unit a finished, professional appearance and a snazzy DIYPNPdecal for the lid."

impulsive.ca 12-18-2014 01:40 PM

Since you've built it, would I need to do anything to run it on a boosted setup? Other than the add-on boost controller?

I was planning on getting a MSPNP2 + EBC and IAT... But if this is the same minus the EBC, that I can work with for the price.

Sorry, but I'm a total noob when it comes to MS.

The DIYPNP uses the microsquirt module. I'm pretty sure the MSPNP2 uses the MS2 processor. However, both microsquirt and MS2 use the same firmware, internal processor, and have the same allowance of features.

No worries, we all have to get our feet wet at one time. You will need a new tune for boost.

Taken from the manual linked below:

That's it? I want to make sure there's no other difference, as for $200 I could just get the MSPNP2 ecu. Obviously if I were to get the one for sale here, I'd get an OTS tune to get the car to run first, then tune accordingly, but I want to make sure before I send him the cash.

99mx5 12-18-2014 06:07 PM

Yup, The ECU is wired up for the stock ecu harness. He has the sequential ignition mod but he is currently using wasted spark. You will have to run the extra wires for sequential ignition for a COP setup.

Taken from the DIY site:

"The boost control mod kit is not required for the MSPNP, DIYPNP, MS3X, or MS3-Pro. These units all feature a boost control output as standard equipment; just hook up a solenoid and turn it on in the software."

PCBv3 and v2.2 -- Boost Control Mod-Kit DIYAutoTune.com

Edit:
Your car should start right up with the current tune after setting up base timing. Just don't run boost until you get a proper tune.

tylerflores21 02-08-2015 06:36 PM

i have a turbo setup on my 94 1.8, everything is done I just need the megasquirt currently running the bipes acu and begi fpr. can I plug his ms in and set my base tune and be good to go or are there things that need to be changed with how his ms is setup?
