Maybe this will help. Blue line is the same Tomei cams and SUBs for sale here, and similar head work, all bolted to an untouched used VVT bottom end with 100k. Flat top IM, NB2 injectors, RB header, and a 3d printed intake, MS3 Basic.

Red line is still a potent build, completely rebuilt but with stock cams. Only other difference is VICS IM. That's 16hp more at 6000rpm, and similar gains everywhere else.

Yes, I always tune VVT. Go up 2-3* and do a run, go back in the areas it didn't make power, keep going if it did make power. While a flat rate tune may have gotten a few dozen more pulls and a few more hp out of each tune (I usually charge hourly and keep the owner's budget in mind), both of these have survived* many hours of racing since these dynos.

*lol jk. You'll notice it's labeled "bestofdeadengine", it actually blew up 3 pulls later from a spun bearing, but made the same power after it was rebuilt (again), but I don't seem to have those dyno files, but the comparison stands. THAT engine then lasted 60+ hours of racing.
