I just ordered some TRUBO gauges, getting him to make me the correct MPH also.

Mine looked really good. The clear plastic lens was already messed up, though.

Gah, I don't know why I didn't think of this. That was dumb. Oh well.

These gauges are worth paying full price for :)

Buy another replacement for just the speedo and sell yours?

turbofan 11-29-2016 05:45 PM

fixing that is very, very low on my priority list, but I'll probably do that one day.

Why alter the cluster when you can just put in the correct speed sensor?? There is a parts list where you can make a cable speedo sensor to make it work in the NA. That is what i did for a freind when i did his 3.63 gears.

aidandj 11-29-2016 06:14 PM

Because that costs money? And adjusting gauges that you are already getting is free?

mmmjesse 11-29-2016 06:19 PM

it costs all of about 20 to put one together for an NA. now for an NB, dont most the gear kits come with a new sensor or was that just corksport that did that? I know my friends came with the correct NB sensor.

aidandj 11-29-2016 06:19 PM

Yeah if you are blowing money on new gears. Most people buy used.

EO2K 11-29-2016 06:30 PM

People on this forum buy things from Corksport? :giggle:

Where is this. From when I briefly looked all the 3.63 toothed wheels were for NB electronic speed sensors, not the mechanical NA ones. Besides that I can now theoretically hit 25mph faster then stock gauges go, the revlimiter gauges will go to 170mph.

Also why would you not want your gauges to look like this.

Its some clusterfuck of part numbers for gears, o-rings, roll pins and other things that allow you to convert an NA mechanical with the gear from the NB sender. I accidentally ordered all the parts to do this once, not realizing it was for an NA not an NB. You want them? LMK and we can work something out.

...if I can find them in my garage.

sixshooter 11-30-2016 12:26 PM

Yeah, what Aidan said about it being cheaper and easier and what Lars said about higher numbers on the speedo. I had already been on the revlimiter (haha) with the 5 speed and 4.10s at Daytona at 143.7mph on a 140mph speedo. Having 3.63s going in and keeping the 140 speedo would be silly when my plans were to go over 150mph the next chance I got. And the better orientation with zero moved to the 6 o'clock position makes the top numbers on the tach and speedo easier to see at a glance. And the numbers are larger, which also helps.
