Stealth N/A Turn signal headlights GB#2!

***Due to personal issues, and shipping delays GB Closed early 11/13! I would not be able to deliver another 5 sets on time at this point***

All,

I've finally secured suppliers for the next round of Stealth NA headlights!

Availability: Up to 10 sets
Close date: November 19th
Target delivery: Early/Mid December.

Inspired by Aidanj's guide here. This is what you get:

-2 Genuine Hella 60mm low beam projector modules w/55w bulbs and mounting hardware
- Switchback halo lights (white/amber) for parking and turn signal attached to the projector
- Plug 'n Play wire harnesses for headlights / turn signals /park lamps
- Modified crystal clear depo turn signal housings
- Shipping, tracking, insurance within U.S.
- detailed installation instructions
- Weight savings and much more light output!
- each unit tested before shipment

Things to consider:
- This is low beam only, but it's been my experience so far this is plenty of light on a street car. Light output is far better than stock low beam.
- when it comes to headlight covers, you're on your own. There are several options here, including race hoods without headlight cutouts, or the nice rivet on brackets from Singular motorsports.
- I don't know the lighting laws in your area, so its going to be up to you to make sure you're not violating any laws.
- your turn signals will flash fast. I don't currently provide a solution for that - but there are DIY writeups out there.
- Moisture buildup behind the parking light lenses will sometimes happen. This is due to the modified lenses having an open back to accommodate the projector.
- This WILL require cutting on on your car in the front apron area to accommodate the size of the projectors. You will still be able to go back to your stock headlights - and those cuts won't be visible - but a car is only original once. Priming & painting the cut area to prevent rust is STRONGLY recommended

Payment:
- $100 deposit to get on the list
- $190 final payment to cover balance before shipping early/mid December ($265 +$25 shipping)
- Paypal - mx5tuner at gmail.com
- yes, cost has come up since last time. It's still the lowest cost, lightest weight headlight kit out there.
- I'd like to drop the price if we hit a certain number, but I'm just not moving enough of these to get any volume discount.

Got it, Thank you!

One more and I will begin ordering parts. If that comes today or tomorrow, we could be about a week ahead of schedule.

thank you!

All,

5 deposits have been received. All of the parts to assemble the kits are scheduled to arrive by November 21. Because of some of the delays associated with some parts of the kits, and the fact that I have to prepare for the holidays and other issues, I have to close the group buy today. I simply would not have time to prepare another 5 kits for early/mid December. If there is still demand I can do another run in January. To those who have sent deposits - Thank you! and your kit will be available on time.

Stealth97 11-18-2018 05:14 PM

Looks like all the parts have arrived! Will start assembling kits over the holiday.

Jitwontee 11-20-2018 11:52 PM

Awesome! Thank you for the updates!!

Stealth97 11-26-2018 09:28 AM

Another quick update... All of the housings are done, and the halos have all been wired up. The harnesses are going to look sweet with the red/black sleeving.. Here are the halos

Ben AZ 11-26-2018 11:44 AM

Sweet! Looking forward to getting these installed.

Stealth97 11-29-2018 11:12 PM

Most of the halos were attached tonight, just the final wiring remains.

Hella shorted me some hardware, unfortunately. As soon as I get that hardware in and get these wired up, we will be good to go. I suspect these will be completed this weekend, and I'll be ready to accept final payment and ship Dec. 3rd.

Stealth97 12-03-2018 04:15 PM

Ok Guys, made some great progress over the weekend. Everything is complete except for wiring for two halos, and the previously mentioned hardware issue. I should be ready to accept final payment in the next day or so. Until then, here's a preview of some of the completed halos/projectors. These have all been tested on my car and are working great. I really liked how the wiring turned out. The red/black techflex is really sweet.

If all goes as planned, the last pair of lights will be finished and tested tonight. I've received the missing hardware as well.

I also can't wait for you to get these installed. I haven't had any feeback yet from the last GB :(

Really? I already have my bumper off and just finished the Singular light brackets last night. I was going to ask for the instructions sooner than the projected ship date just so I could cut everything needed ASAP. LOL

I like them. Very nifty pieces. Although in my haste, My headlight lids are not mounted perfectly due to my crude cutting job with an angle grinder, they work. I look forward to getting the instructions! I've been running out of projects on the car to hold me over. :bigtu:

matrussell122 12-05-2018 03:40 PM

Can i get a copy of the instructions too

Sweet! I was thinking of asking for an update earlier, but I took the car for a test drive today and found that I have a bit more work ahead of me anyways.. Thanks for the updates though! :yippee:

Stealth97 12-11-2018 06:46 PM

Unfortunately these did not go out today. Chaos at work prevented me from getting to FedEx before they close.

These will go out tomorrow.

alienmiata1 12-13-2018 07:28 PM

Helps only being 200 miles away! I’m hoping to get these installed this weekend and will post pics when I’m done!

I got my lights yesterday and started the disassembly today. I got the headlights out and realized the the fan relay on passenger side and the hood prop on driver side both use the headlight bracket. I would like to delete all related brackets so what have you guys that also have the new lights come up with to relocate those things?

I ditched everything and went with hood pins instead of a factory release, and riveted the headlight covers to the hood. I can't speak to more street legal options.

wildmiata 12-15-2018 11:28 PM

Hood pins are not a bad option, but then what do you use to prop the hood open when working in the bay?

I've had hood struts since I bought the car. After having a set on my WRX a few years ago, it makes working in the bay way nicer.

Stealth97 12-16-2018 06:44 AM

Both my Miatas have had good struts - so this is a problem I did not even think about. You’ll either need to get struts, or keep the hood prop in the trunk and prop it somewhere when working on the car.

for the relays, I bolted mine down to the lower radiator overflow bolt.

That was what was thinking of doing with the relays, did you have to make the hole larger to fit? Looks like a different size bolt.

no, it fit just fine

Stealth97 12-20-2018 02:20 PM

Anyone get their kit installed yet?

alienmiata1 01-14-2019 09:02 PM

Got mine installed today. They look great! Really cleared up a lot of room in the engine bay.

What did you find best to get the lights aimed and pointed in the right direction? If you remove the clear lens from the bumper, could you get to the adjusters?

I am able to get to the adjusters on mine with the clear lens removed.

I start with them cranked as tight as possible, then loosen each corner until lined up.

Jitwontee 02-11-2019 07:34 PM

Been workin so much took awhile to get these installed but i finally did any they exceeded my expectations very cool thank you

Jitwontee 02-27-2019 05:01 PM

Well the car has not moved since i installed the headlights and one halo is already not working. It seems to be on the projector connector that connects to the harness if i play around with the wires i can get it to turn on so i gotta dig into the hot melt and re wire it

PM me if you would like a replacement.

I don’t have any halos in stock right now since I’m not planning any GB but I can get a new one for you.

Jitwontee 03-01-2019 09:32 PM

No its fine a fixed them already the pin in the connector wasnt all the way in not hard to do just wanted to let others know to double check before completing the install

thanks for letting me know. I will probably remove that connector in future runs. I thought it would provide value but it hasn’t

wildmiata 05-04-2019 10:10 PM

Finally got my headlights installed. You cannot access the upper screws to adjust headlights with bumper on. My right headlight has a weird shadow blocking a portion in front of the car. Any ideas how to fix that? Pulling the bumper tomorrow to better aim the lights I have to get them pointed down a bit more

on my car I actually can hit the upper adjustment screws with a long screwdriver. As I said in E-mail your Lights need to be adjusted. The “shadow” is actually due to the cutoff shield inside the projector. When properly adjusted it allows you to aim the lights higher than you normally would be able and not blind oncoming traffic.

it may be best to adjust them one at a time so you’re sure what light is doing what. Unplug one side or throw a blanket over one side to do them one at a time.

acedeuce802 05-06-2019 09:56 AM

The projector is upside down?

That was my first thought as well, Got it all straight over e-mail.

The main cutoff line you see is actually for the left, pointed way too far right. The cutoff line for the left one is way high, just under the SUV in the pic. I asked him to point the right projector further to the right.

The right projector is also pointing too far inward. You can see the cutoff just below the SUV in the background,

POPUPS 04-10-2021 02:16 PM

keep both

Just bought a pair and was wondering Any way to keep both your popup lights and these?
