Pardon my ignorance, but are the Mazdaspeed rods/pistons any different the normal NB1/2 ones? Forged? Just wondering? Thanks

Not entirely sure. Some say the pistons are forged from factory.

I think in the end these are just excellent low mileage examples to use in a mild build. Comes with rod bearings for the super cheap.

For clarification, Mazdaspeed pistons and rods are no different than standard NB, not forged.

If im looking at it right, the rods are forged. Forged rods doesnt have a parting line like casted iron down. And plus, cast iron rods arent as popular due to the strength.

Can take better pictures if needed...as stated in thread... I honestly don't know and these simply a great example of low milage pistons/rods/bearings...

There's a cast line down the middle... Look at the actual photobucket picture.

MSM rods are not forged. It is well documented that they are the exact same rods that come in all 1.8 Miatas and have the same tolerances.
