TEC II w/ Mounting hardware - 600 shipped

I bought this TEC II from FM about six months ago with thoughts of doing a parallel install in my 2000. It has been sitting for six months. It has the wheel/mount and magnetic sensor pickup. Shoot me an email at Kags1969@yahoo.com

This is a nice standalone ecu with awesome ignition. A very good deal for someone.

I may be interested... shooting you a PM

Does it not use the stock ignition?

What else would be needed for an install?

Ben 07-24-2007 06:34 PM

TEC uses its own coils. Pretty bad ass stuff. The only bitch of it is the trigger wheel and mount if you didn't have it. But it appears Kags has that handled already. Ensign MarkP would be the resident expert. I think he had a II before going to his current IIIr. Or maybe he had a III before the IIIr, don't remember.

I would purchase it in a heartbeat if I didn't have my MSPNP.

I posted this over on my old Saturn forum, the question came up as to what else is needed to make it work properly, cause a few people are really interested. I know it's kind of a generalized question...

druz 08-25-2007 09:26 PM

I'd be interested in the Miata mounts if you sell it to someone without a Miata.

kags1969 08-27-2007 01:16 PM

You would have to wire in the ecu and you might need gm sensors for the intake, water temp and add a map sensor. Not sure what else would be required. I just havent wanted to dive off into this project.... I may still as it is a very capable ecu.

Bump. From August 08/2007. I called an bought the $130 set of Magnacore spark plug wires for this unit and will include these for $600 shipped.

pschmidt 02-05-2008 05:37 PM

Is the wiring harness included?

BenR 02-05-2008 05:38 PM

Awesome ECU and amazing price. I'd pick it up if I didn't need to build the motor first.

kags1969 02-05-2008 05:41 PM

No if it were plug and play, I'd be running this on my car right now....

The wires for the injectors and sensors are screwed into the green plugs at each end of the unit, so you either have to get old miata harness and wire it into the unit or get a bunch of wire and build it yourself.

$600 shipped.

M-Tuned 02-12-2008 12:16 PM

What .BIN files does it come with (If any).

I'm sitting on the fence between buying this, or just using the Xede I have in a box in my closet!

kags1969 02-12-2008 12:51 PM

It doesn't come with any bin files, just Shiv's parallel install manual. I know there are some guys on M.net that are running TECII's who might give up a starting BIN. The nice thing about the Xede is ease of use and obdii issues, the setback i that its a piggy. The TECII is supposed to be a great standalone, I understand that Ric (the fast 1/4 mile miata) used a TECII and now a TECIII.

I really just dont want to jack with the whole parrallel install (alternator on 00, idle air, etc.) I would want to do full on standalone (which right now is Hydra - 2k). I am really looking forward to MSPNP for the 99/00 if it ever comes.

Do you have any BIN files for it? I think I emailed you this question via PM. I've looked for all my old TECII files and can't find any of them.

Look 2 posts up, he said no. Don't let that hold you back there are plenty of bin files out to be had. I have a few from a tec2 and a ton from my tec3. I found it easier to start from scratch though as no 2 cars will be the same as far as their setup goes.

I dunno kags, 9 bumps and 7 months later I think it's time to find another way to sell it or drop the price more.

kags1969 02-21-2008 12:42 PM

Well I have added $130 set of Magnacores to sweeten the deal in Feb.... It would be hard to find a $470 full stand alone (and the wires would be tough to sell by themselves...) . I just dont want to pay the 10% that M.net charges.

Loki047 02-21-2008 12:46 PM

Good luck with the sale but unless you have updates enough of the bumping.

Ben 02-21-2008 12:49 PM

The TEC is a really sweet machine. There's a local guy who's running a TECIII with a T3/T4 on a stock motor who's making 328 whp for a year now.

urban 02-21-2008 03:51 PM

thats why i aske3d for a best price.
