Very CLEAN Holset HY35 (HX35 w/diff turbine housing) pics/video
So I have the cleanest HY35 I've ever seen (beyond a new turbo). No build up anywhere on it, no rust spots no anything.
The HY could be a very potent turbo on a miata engine. It combines the power potential of the HX35w (approximately a gt35r) and a smaller turbine housing (9cm) to promote spool. Refer to GIANT Holset threads on Honda-tech.com for some of the potential of these things. They are built like tanks for the diesel trucks they are strapped to. This is basically a HX35w with slightly different compressor housing and a 9cm exhaust housing. Faster spool on a HX35 turbo :) :) Asking 300+shipping (paypal add 3%) If there are any other pictures you want, just ask. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/ce8d7a5e.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/daf9e852.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/8894ac70.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/a3c27caf.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/6e6c6e40.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/9bbc8c34.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/e5599dfc.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/575f610a.jpg Video of spinning and I also show lack of side to side and up or down movement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TL7TJ2yGovY |
You should be a hand model.
That must be a newer model. The ones I've had in the past didn't have the vband comp inlet. Looks money man.
It's not vband compressor inlet, only compressor outlet
What flange? T2 or T3? very interested in this
nvm By what Ive seen I need an extra 200cc for this snail :( |
If you build the motor... a miata engine could play with this. I wouldn't honestly bother with a stock motor though. These wake up at about 15 psi and then the wormhole opens and the end of days begins.
Its a standard t3 flange. |
Hmmm I wonder what this will do on my subaru...hmm. Very clean turbo! GLWS.

Wow this is a great GREAT deal on a badass turbo
Wait is this a ball bearing turbo?
No. At least it shouldn't be. Pretty sure its smooth because it has so few miles on it. Exactly mileage 0 clue though... otherwise I'd share that info.
ugh i'd love to put this on my GTR motor, but i'd probably end up blowing something up lol. plus i already own two spare VJ23's...
great deal though. IIRC they are journal bearing. |
Its a journal bearing. Its a beast though. I originally planned on putting one of these on the uber 1.6 I built that Tom now has.
Ahh ok. Spins a lot for a journal bearing. All of the garrett journal bearing turbo's ive played with, and also my old greddy mitsu journal bearing turbo wouldn't spin more than a few degrees when spinning them, unless they had hot oil in them (like if I just shut off the car and tried spinning them).
From how clean it looks inside (looking through drain), I wouldn't be surprised if it was on a car for not even one full oil change. I also think it looks like it spins alot longer in the video than it really does, trick of the eye vs frame rate.
i want one of these, let me see what i can scape up quick.....
Well, I have been looking for a ginormous turbo for the next iteration of my buildup.
Fuuuuuu, I'll take it. |
Thanks Jon, for sending me the link to this......dick.
