Why MS2 and MS3 boards in it? Going to actually try to get it licensed by B&G? And for Joe Perez, are you going to release all the schematics that you have for it?

Reverant 06-29-2012 03:02 PM

More inputs and outputs of course. You can ditch the MS2 board if you don't want it and/or replace the MS3 for an MS2 for reduced cost.

In for my turbo car.

Dat electrical engineer.

richyvrlimited 06-29-2012 03:12 PM

Oh Nice job Reverant!

I guess the two ECU's talk to each other via CAN, with the 'aux' MS2 having completely custom firmware on it?

Also do you now have a RTC? (button battery).

richyvrlimited 06-29-2012 03:12 PM

Also what's the est pricing for a 2001+....

Reverant 06-29-2012 03:14 PM

Yes, the two boards will communicate with each other through CAN. There are also two additional coprocessors on the board, also with CAN, but these serve a different purpose.

There is an RTC on there, as well as TPIC, and an optional onboard wideband module (SLC OEM).

Holy crap!

doesn't really need saying, but i'll say it anyway. GREAT JOB!

Have a props :)

on board slc oem is win... I have one and really like it. Very curious to hear what all you've got working there. I'm guessing you have some manner of jumper setup to facilitate 90-00 stuff. Got a 01-05 version? I'm guessing no ms3x cause you just built everything on your board, I'm not familiar w/ all the licensing restrictions... I wouldn't have thought this 'legal', but it certainly looks like an awesome solution to so many v3.0 problems.

Thanks. I'm dying to write about all the hardware features, but I don't want to spill too many beans just yet. Suffice to say, jaws are going to drop.

EunosBen 06-29-2012 03:28 PM

Wow! Cannot wait to get my hands on one of these! You know this already though huh ;)

knock and real time clock and wtf is the blue board?

also curious about your licensing with B&G. they Bitchy and Grumpy when people sell interfaces to the MS3.

This board is for the 01-05 (including MSM) only. The rest of the gens will follow very soon.

The MS3x has no place here. It is a cool solution for quick and dirty DIY job along with a V3.0/V3.57 board, but that's it. Everything the MS3x has to offer (and many, many more) are on my board.

The blue board is an MS2 daughterboard.

Licensing will not be a problem, apart from cost of course.

The knock and RTC are not the same modules as the jsmcortina knock/RTC boards. I use my own approach.

Hint: One of the coprocessors is a full sequential crank/cam decoder with an angle clock.

Willing to divulge the price target?

EunosBen 06-29-2012 03:38 PM

Maybe to early for this but what kind of price point are you hoping to hit?

Also, do you intend to ship with all features for all models or simply a selected featureset per customer? I really regret not asking you for launch control as an example.

Also, any attempt at traction control using VSS? These guys have a neat solution but I don't know how replicatable/integratable it is to this setup? Racelogic - Traction Control

Thanks Ben. The 99-00 version isn't that far away at all, so I understand if you can't help yourself!

Oscar 06-29-2012 03:39 PM

So no longer for my eyes only I guess?

hustler 06-29-2012 03:40 PM

Can you walk down the street and get a Gyro?

It is not firm as of yet. There are too many features that I still can't speak of, and once you know everything, the price will be a steal given the feature set. Definitely less than $1k.
