Satisfied customer testimony

So I was able to get in on Reverent's latest MS group buy, and I really need to let everyone know the phenomenal service I have received. Now let my preface this by saying I am a total noob and this is my first time ever modifying my car much less installing a standalone ecu. When I got in on the group buy, I knew Rev's reputation on the forum for building badass megasquirts at a great price. But what has far surpassed my expectations is his customer support. I was slightly hesitant to place my order based on the fact that he is half way across the world and if something went wrong it would be a pain to send the thing back, but I decided to give it a shot.

When I first installed my MS, it didn't work. The ecu wasn't getting power, tuner studio wasn't recognizing it, and the car wouldn't start. I was freaking out thinking that I messed something up and tried switching the plugs around and what not like the noob I am. I sent Rev an email with my problem and he responded with clear, professional troubleshooting starting at the MS and working back toward the factory harness. 40 emails later, he discovers my factory harness is slightly different (similar to a mazdaspeeds), and he gave me simple, concise instructions on how to fix the problem. Not only did he help me fix that problem, but even after my car is running he is still extremely helpful on some other little issues I have that are my fault and not the fault of his product in the least. Anyone who has any doubts ordering a megasquirt through Reverent because of the distance, fear not. He does everything he can to help out his customers.

So thank you Dimitris. Because of the pride you take in your work and the support you gave me, I am happily boosted :)

Always good to hear a happy ending. I have a old MSPNP that came in my car when I bought it, I kind of want to get a new one if it helps at all and do the install myself. Wiring scares the piss out of me, though.

I was intimidated by wiring myself, but Rev was able to walk me through everything and his plug-n-play harness makes installation super easy.

PM'ed rev/brain on upgrading my MSPNP :D

I recieved my "eMS2", plugged it in, it worked, started on the first key crank. I plan to buy an MS3 from Reverant in the future. He also tolerated my ignorance and general stupidity.

Remember when I said I enjoyed our dinner together? Well, I lied.

I wanted to share my experience with Dimitris as well:
I bought one of his enhanced MS2's 3rd-hand from a member here (original purchaser sold it to the 2nd owner, who sold it to me).
Initially I had some trouble getting my idle working properly when warming up with my A/C on, and Dimitris suggested the firmware I was using was horribly out of date.

I asked if he could help me get it updated to the latest version, expecting to need to pay for the service (afterall I hadn't given him a dime since I bought it used). He not only said no payment was required, but took the time to connect remotely and get it updated for me within 10 minutes.
Service like that usually can't be bought for any money, and Dimitris offers it along with the (very reasonable) purchase price of his MS units. I'll recommend his products to anyone with aftermarket ECU needs from now on.

I can't say enough good things about Dimitris and his product. If you are thinking about buying one of his products do it. His products and customer service are top notch! Thanks Dimitris for all your help in getting me through the install and troubleshooting my "hiccups"

Great price, great customer support. I bought my 1999 MS2 Enhanced from him over a year ago, took me a while to get the motivation to fit my FM kit. Fitted the MS after fitting the turbo kit. The car started ok first time and drives very well with the basemap. but engine was stalling on hotstarts. I emailed him about it and got a reply that same day.He asked for a log and emailed me back in 5 minutes with the solution which immediately solved the hotstart issue. No fault of his, i didnt calibrate the TPS as he said on the instruction manual. If I had done it the car would have started with no issues at all. Im very happy with my purchase and most of all with the support. Thanks Dimitris.

Reverant, that poor, poor soul. He has to deal with me, my retardation, and my miserable luck. However he's always there.

^+1.

I can't speak highly enough about Rev's customer service or his product.

Why, it's just FABULOUS! :giggle:

Zaphod 04-01-2013 11:41 AM

Oh come on, don't baby him too much over here - otherwise he takes his sunchair and sits all day in the nice Greek sun... he is supposed to finish our Enhanced MS3s :giggle::giggle::bowrofl:

I don't think you understand. I prove, time and time again, that I'm functionally retarded.

MS Labs MS3/MS3X

I ordered a MS3/MS3 back in November 2012 to run a 03 NB 1.8L VVT engine in a 97 NA chasis. I took on the task of creating a custom engine harness by combining the 97 wiring on the chasis side with a 01-05 engine harness myself.

The final result has been fantastic. Both the product and support from MS Labs have exceeded my expectations. Dimitris was quick to troubleshoot some configuration issues in the basemap due to my non-standard chasis-engine combination. The car started as soon as I loaded the revised configuration sent within minutes of our discussion (via email). Power and responsiveness of the new engine/ECU is vastly superior to the old, stock 97 NA 1.8L unit.

Note: Any basemap provided with an aftermarket standalone ECU is going to require some amount of tuning for your specific vehicle and its modifications. The product from MS Labs makes the install as painless as possible, but he doesn't sell or provide "remote tuning".

This isn't a complaint about Dimitris at all, but buyers should have the right expectations going into the project. If you aren't willing to read up on the MegaSquirt firmware, TunerStudio, electronic FI engine tuning, etc, then you will need to line up an independent tuner who will work with the MegaSquirt ECU.

Thanks Dimitris for all of your help with my MS3 Miata project!
