STOP!!! BEFORE YOU BUY ANY ECU!

Fucking Rev,
He is so insanely awesome it's not even funny. The level of support he provides even being in Greece is literally second to none. I am beyond impressed.

I ordered the MS3 Basic + the CAN Module. I'm about to start it up and hitting a snag. Rev, is answering literally within a minute!

Before I even purchased anything he was a standup guy. I didn't even purchase directly from him I purchased from Trackspeed Engineering because I'm impatient.

I just thought I would share he's seriously awesome and the product is the best ECU for a Miata on the market hands down. Can't wait to use the ODB2 output, serial input, and CLOSED LOOP IDLE!!

Anything less is a compromise seriously. Wish I did this last year instead of struggling with my DIYPNP MS2!

Just because you are terrible at figuring things out on your own doesn't mean everyone else is. My DIYPNP runs just fine and has since it were first built.

And, from the sounds of things you haven't even run it yet? lol

Not sure where this is going. My car runs "fine" after I messed with my PNP for a bit but a tuner will do a much better job because experience holds more weight with knowledge. I'm new so I'm not familiar with your rep with MS so don't take that any other way than someone speaking from a general standpoint. Someone could always have something else to add. JS.

run

This is guy hasn't even started the car on the new megasquirt yet, but he's singing praises for how great it is. Even better, he's proclaimed himself the expert and every other ecu is crap in comparison. He has no right to make such a statement, no experience in anything other than failing. This thread is nothing more than what everyone already knew, Reverent makes ecus and has great customer support.

I don't know what he expects to happen different, but you still have to tune a Reverent ecu. I expect more crying to come.

Maybe I'm not following here but it seems as if he's suggesting that Reverent is already helping him tune said ECU even though he didn't buy it from him. The "Rev is tuning my car" is absent from his post and obviously you can't rely on your implied statements to get across to people but I'm oblivious to the reason behind the hostility unless he has a rap sheet for trolling or something (which goes back to me being new and not clicking passed the 6th or 7th page of any of the forums so far haha)

Reverent is not omnipresent, anyone who says they can tune a car from across the world, or in the mail, is a fucking novice toolbag. Reverent never said any such thing, I guarantee it.

He has had Reverant explain configuration settings, I know from the first post. That you don't see how sad that is explains how little you know as well. All the settings you need are posted free, everywhere. It all makes sense if you just stop and read the manual.

And he did buy the ECU from Rev, he stocks them through Trackspeed. Are you and OP fucking serious?

I am surrounded by fucking idiots.

Actually, I have tuned a car in Japan using TeamViewer. :dealwithit:

Lmfao. Hard to refute that when you have complete access to that PC. That was my next suggestion as I've seen plenty of people do that on MazdaspeedForums. Also @deezum.....you said he acts like an expert but you're speaking FOR Reverant in a way. But then again I don't know anything :fawk:

18psi 01-21-2016 05:50 PM

this thread is cool cause I'm about to install and tune yet ANOTHER Rev MS3 setup

today :likecat:

I've done a lot of Rev MS3's over the years. And keep recommending him to everyone :)

deezums 01-21-2016 05:52 PM

I bought things from Reverant and said good things, serial input, OBD2 and CLOSED LOOP IDLE!! All on my non-reverant DIYPNP.

While I am sure it's possible to tune through teamviewer there are lots of things to tune that can't be done that way. It's not possible to tune for all conditions on the dyno in one day. In fact, that's kinda the easy part with a dyno...

OP is dumb as rocks and has no business saying what he does about all ecus in the manner he did, that's all.

All I see are the emotional polar opposites of excitement and cynicism coming to meet in the middle hahaha /thread

Another solid Miataturbo.net thread lol

CrazyMiataNJ 01-22-2016 12:25 AM

Holy fuck, everyone calm down. Where did I say all other ECUs suck or are uselss??
I am just saying Rev has a nice packaged ECU which takes a lot of the WORK out of getting everything running smoothly. In my PARTICULAR situation it would have been too much work and too much time. Time is limited. So I went with the MS3 route which saved me oodles of fucking time.
In summary, Rev's support is fantastic, all ECUs have their merit, and I'm a noob.

I am glad everyone is an expert. Thanks for taking the time out of your oh so busy lives to chime in! :jerkit:

You don't have access to a dyno in a pressure controlled climate chamber?

I wish I had :D
