DIYPNP and 01-05 Miata?

I've got a diypnp setup that was originally for an MR2, I'm trying to find an assembly guide for an 01-05 miata for it. I've PM'd Braineack (sp?) already to see if he'd be willing to tackle it but I'm perfectly fine with doing it as well.

Basically I want to control boost with it, and have AC that works, cruise preferably as well, as well as full control over fuel and ignition obviously. Knock control would be preferable also, as well as fan control and an e85 sensor.

I'd like to know if anyone has a pdf for the 01-05 assembly. Also I have sent a message to diyautotune about a diy vvt-tuner and have also decided to use the westfieldmx5 alternator control so I don't have to take up valueable proto area space, and because it's quite easy to slap in the case. As far as ecu connectors I have them for an 02-05 wrx which should be the same as my 04 miata.

sell it and buy a ms3x kit?

From my experience it evens out the cost since you dont have to buy the vvt tuner any longer.

I'd rather just run with what I have and just add on the vvt stuff to tell you the truth. All I really need to know is where to connect jumpers and resistors and the like. past that I can probably figure it out

I am working on the same problem. I will make a new post with what I have figured out already. Hopefully we can get something working.

unless you don't mind spending $200 for the vvt tuner the above poster is correct and it is not worth it. I instead bought an ecu connector and I'm going to wires this diypnp for a 99-00, and sell it so I can recoup the costs and just buy a diy ms3x. Then I'll at least be able to have all the circuits I want.

Sell MS2 and buy MS3x. Spending nearly half of the cost of a MS3x on just a VVT tuning box is crazy.

Your DIYPNP is no longer a DIYPNP anyway. It does not have the proper ECU connector for a 01+ miata. You would need to bother DIY auto for a new break out board with the 122 Nippon connector.

So, you're gonna spend a bunch of money, probably more than a new ms3x, on converting an old piece of turd ms2. Seems smart.

I pulled one out of a corolla for like $20 and a dremel :D

Buying a DIYBOB will get you the connector, PCB, and endplate needed to change a DIYPNP from one connector version to another.
